What is a.akamai.hd.net?

So when I copy and paste an image url to another message the link is for a.akamai.hd.net and I heard this is used to distribute viruses but I also heard its used by big companys as well. Is this safe?

OP misspelled the domain. Steam's upload CDN is steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net

i hope they didnt play with the SteamCMD to add a key logger to get our account their is already a website on steam Valve to get SteamCMD why did he ask us to use that one instead of the official one ?? Steam can you search for that and see if we didnt get hacked or something just to be safe !!!

back then I did a domain lookup because a misspelled domain is usually an indicator of a phishing site. It could also be someone else's tunnel or whatever.
The possibility existed at least that the domain was correctly spelled and, if that was the case it to me seemed suspicious.
but as others said its highly likely it was simply misspelled.

I also wanted to show how to find a site's information and which part exactly the important part is of a domain.

it doesn't matter much now I guess, and yeah, relooking at the thread, I indeed forgot what the protocol was that ping used. xd
