It could be possible that your Store settings or filtered tags are blocking it from Store Search results. Or you've chosen to ignore the developer or publisher at some point. Or possibly filtered out the genre or main tags the game has attached to it. I'd look at your store preferences, and see if any thing there might be affecting the Store Search.
Not sure what else to suggest.
This is all that shows for "God":
WorldBox - God Simulator
Realm of the Mad God Exalt
Mite - Ultimate God Pack
God Eater 3
Praey for the Gods.
https://store.steampowered.com/search/?term=new+world
Shows that game as the 1st result.
https://store.steampowered.com/search/?term=god+of+war
Shows that game as the 1st result.
Searched "God"
https://store.steampowered.com/search/?term=god
God of War is the 1st result.
Searched "New"
https://store.steampowered.com/search/?term=new
New World is the 1st result.
Any chance you ignored the devs or publisher? Either link on the store page (dev or pub) takes you to the PlayStation Studios™ publisher page here: https://store.steampowered.com/publisher/playstationstudios
You have the box for "General Mature Content" checked in Store preferences ? God Of War is at the top of the list for "View Example Products" for mature content. IIRC, New World also falls into the "General Mature Content" slot as well.
I have all options to view "questionable" material turned on. I also have the replace bad words with hearts and whatnot turn off.
I do not believe I have ever blocked content or publisher.
Family View?
Shared computer with someone who also has a Steam account and owns the games?
Other than those reaches- i am totally out of ideas about what might be causing this, besides
Every modern search engine will look at what you wrote and then give you exact and similar results so its easier to find what you are looking for.
Not Steam.
Oh and the best is if its some generic name that many games share, then you end with like 30 results but Steam will only show you like the first 10.
REALLY needs an overhaul.
You didn't search "god of war". You searched "god" and that's not very specific. So it brings up not just any title with that but anything with that tag, the first 5 or 6 in fact.
So you need to make your searches more appropraite.
No, God of War is the first suggested result when I search for "God" in the Steam store search. https://imgur.com/a/zPqaU5H
Same.
Using broswer, logged out, searched for "god" and it's result number 1
https://store.steampowered.com/search/?term=God
And a search for "new" has New World top of the list
https://store.steampowered.com/search/?term=New
Fari enough. I didn't bother checking.
Although it does often work like this though. If you aren't specific enough it'll just showve the first few games at you based on a wider spec.
But fair point nonetheless.
For clarity though, it ouwld be nice for the OP to provide more info - like what country they're in.
It's a bit poor as per this thread same general issue
https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/3203749235840923332/
but search fapqueen and always results crazy.........
