Very bizarre controller behavior ONLY when using with Steam? Any tips?
Just yesterday my controller started functioning strangely when in Steam/Steam games. When I go into calibration mode I can see that the analog sticks dont have smooth analog aiming. If I try to rotate in a perfect circle, the cursor "sticks" to the x and y axis for a moment as I scroll past them and really messes with my aim. There is also suddenly a big deadzone in the center where no input is registered so my cursor teleports from the center to about 30% across the radius when I try moving it over slightly. Not sure if its part of the exact same issue but at the same time some of my buttons would only register a minority of the time and other buttons that did work began functioning as macros for multiple actions. Again, this ONLY happens on Steam games. I tested this out in Windows controller settings and in Overwatch and the aiming was perfectly smooth and all of my buttons worked properly again.

I'm on an Xbox Elite Controller series 2. I made sure the firmware was updated through the xbox accessories app and have restarted Steam and my computer to no avail. This issue really seemed to come out of nowhere, and is super frustrating because most of my library is on Steam. Any tips appreciated, thank you.

Disabel steam input under settings.

Seem to be a common issue many users are complaining about. That CAN fix it but it might not work for you.

If you're in the Steam beta, quit it.

Remember to restart Steam afterwards. Reconnecting the gamepad should to the trick as well. I had numerous cases of Steam still keeping an open handle (or something like that) after disabling the input mapper.
