SAM is basically "use at your own risk." While it will not cause a VAC ban, some game devs will game ban you for it... So I would ask about how they feel about use of SAM in that game's hub.

Edit: should add that many users see the rampant use of SAM as "willingness to cheat" and may judge you for it. So yeah, it's up to you.

SAM is the Steam Achievement Manager, a 3rd party software that allows you to edit steam achievements. Kinda a taboo subject, but in some cases it serves a purpose. I know some people have issues synching achievements between other launchers and steam, and SAM can fix that.

Again, use at your own risk.

Yup Steam Achievement Manager is a neat utility that basically aloows you to manually unlock any achievement.

You are fine using it, but use it SPARINGLY. Many people go crazy with it and start unlocking achievements in games then regret it afterwards and you CANNOT go back in most cases.

Simply put achievements use game-specific variables to accrue any metrics for them. If you rest the achievements it won't reset the variables so you can never unlock the achievement again - except through SAM again.

I use SAM but I ONLY EVER use it when I've already earned an achievement and it doesn't pop - so that's very rare.

whats the game you have trouble with?
Electric Cupcake Dec 28, 2021 @ 5:14pm
Ignore it. It's not like anyone over 12 cares about achievements.

You were called out as being wrong the last time you said that, so stop being disingenious.

Achievements are like anything else on here - some like, others don't.

I could equally say nobody above 12 cares about games. See how stupid that sounds?

Get some empathy.

Aren’t you massively into My Little Pony? Personally i’m not fussed about achievements but will occasionally take notice if they pop up..

I checked for this first time in life. I just discovered that somehow steam.game does not set my achievement during play. And for example I have to colonise XXX and I already had there every base in my game-play. Or hire 6 consultants but I already have 6. I just fired one and hired again only for this, also can destroy base and built again). But some are not longer possible to finish as one of them is f.e. reveal you faction final target (mission to end a game) and I already revealed it and can not reveal it again = I would need to start from the beginning to make this one :). This things started to annoy me. usual does not care for achievements and even does not check until sometimes when i finish game to complete easy ones which i did not unlocked randomly, but it is something else then i already did it but I dont have it :).

Ps. i think the problem can be when I put me PC to sleep with a game and continue after wake up. And it is what I did very commonly and probably the same thing was for other games I played but if i dont know about it it is better :P
