Do system requirements take DLSS into account?
Do the system requirements for games with DLSS or FidelityFx take the performance boost into account or is that the requirement for the game running without those features? I'd reckon it's the latter but a quick elgoog search was of no help

You would have to ask the game's developers. There really is no general answer that can be give as the each have their own testing procedures and quality requirements.

Thanks. I was curious because Icarus has day 0 DLSS support, I'll see if I can find a way to contact RocketWerkz about it.

Seems the developer's post in their own game's forum. You could always ask there.

There's no real set range of criteria that is specific to minimum, recommended, etc. System requirements are normally aimed at what the developers believe will provide an enjoyable user experience. There are many games that will play on systems that are below minimum and what they recommend may not be able to run the game to a standard that you prefer.

Options like DLSS or FidelityFX are typically beyond the scope of system requirements as they enhance the experience further than what is recommended. However, it may still be included because that is what the developer prefers for their intended user experience. I would assume it to be part of a recommended list as opposed to a minimum list, but as I said there is no hard set definition for system requirements.

If I was trying to infer that I would look to see if the minimum required hardware supports DLSS. If the answer is no, then I wouldn't assume the system requirements took DLSS into account.

If the answer is yes, the minimum hardware supports DLSS then it probably doesn't matter one way or the other. The game will either run, or run better than you expect.

Probably, yes, if the game offers that feature.

The thing about system requirements is that there's no sharp cutoff for what does and doesn't work under what specs. If you can get a game to work, that doesn't necessarily mean it's playable, and what's considered playable is very subjective. I can be happy at low settings, 480p, 20 fps. Someone else may consider that unplayable. Where do we draw the line?
