Does Steam Network allow to use Proxy/VPN?
Hello everyone, do you use also VPN or Proxy? If It prohibited to use Proxy/VPN then I will know because I have problem with games sometimes not listed servers to me

That is why my home network uses VPN. Opps and I try my Laptop with Wifi with my tablet as mobile internet without VPN and it works fine. I would like know why does server not list all when you use VPN / Proxy.

Thank you!

As long you dont try to change your country of residence to abuse lower prices it should be fine, I used NordVPN for a year because my ISP was really bad connecting to other servers outside Chile (fu Claro, you suck!)

I use a VPN at all times. No issues for me.

I too use a VPN. Surprisingly Steam continues to work even if you turn the VPN off while steam is running or even more surprisingly continues to work if you turn the VPN on while steam is running.

Mystified me the first time that happened. Might be a function of the VPN (I use NORD) so might not be true for you.

There's some words in the SSA about VPNs but unless you are using it to bypass regional restrictions they don't care.

If a games servers aren't being listed that's an issue between you and those servers, nothing to do with Steam.

It could be an issue with the VPN you are using, or the proxies you are setting. If the game's servers have any sort of an IP blacklist, you may just be unlucky enough to be tapping IPs that are disallowed on some servers. Or they may be using some sort of VPN detection, and do not allow VPNs on those servers at all.

You'd be better off asking in the game forums for the games that you are having issues with this on. I am required to have a VPN on or use proxies on my work computers, but I am also allowed to game on them. No issues, but I don't play MP/co-op games often, and my VPN and proxyies are always set within the country I live in. If I have to set my IP outside of my country of residence for a job, I don't use Steam at all until I can reset back to my home country.

Ditto on all counts. I've used NordVPN for years and turned on the killswitch when the government ended Net Neutrality. And as Reggae said, as long as you aren't using it to bypass regional restrictions it's not an issue as far as I'm aware.

No not quite.
You can freely use a VPN - they themselves are no problem. It's HOW you use them that is the matter here.

So using them to find different servers for a game or anything like that, absolutely fine.

Using them to try and circumvent regional pricing, big no no. As that is a clear breach of the terms and coniditions.

Thank you for replying me! But My home network works fine without vpn because my daddy has set up normally. Thanks It is okay. Now I am out from vpn. I know sometimes games don't like VPN because soime softwares hate vpn. like streams example DisneyPlus or NetFlix don't care to use VPN. Now it is end of post.
