My Credit Card was stolen and used on Steam
Sorry for my poor english......

I have 3 steam purchase transactions which are NOT purchased by me.
Those transactions have not show in my steam account as well.

I figured it out as my bank send transcations warning to my mobile phone.

I have NOT using this credit card to make any online transaction since Nov 2021
The last online transaction which I used this credit card are used to purchased a game from steam....
I have selected NOT save credit card information at steam as well.

I wonder how scammer can steal my card information from STEAM.
My PC have checked virus without problem.
This issue must be the problem on STEAM.

Any guys have similar experience?? I have used stem over 10 years already.... first time happened.

I am not dare to purchase via steam again :(

So, you failed to keep your credit card details private. Tough luck.
Ever heard of correlation does not equal causality?

Steam is not the leak. They cna't possibly be, as they do not save the full details like your Card Security Code as that would be illegal.
Still, somehow someone got it, from you!

As I use that card for steam only online...... have not used that card for any other online transactions....

Again as told in other thread you most likely got the number stolen when you used it a physical location. It could have been stolen weeks or months ago and they wait to make it harder to trace back to where it occured.

Doesn't matter. If you get a key logger, it could record the information needed.

Skimmers are a thing too, if you us your physical card in a store.

If someone had access to your physical wallet, they could get the numbers.

Credit cards information is also sat on at time by those who obtained it, to either resell to others or wait until they think it won't be noticed.

While the card was used to make a Steam purchase, that does not mean that they got the information through Steam, only that it was used on Steam. They could have easily used it at Target or some other store.

Go to bank and cancel the card first thing to do.
Order a new one

Heck if its a RFID card sadly they can even walk next to you and steal the number these days.....

If the transactions don't show in your account, then that means your card was used on other accounts.

THAT MEANS someone got access to your card (be it physically or digitally (keylogger, skimmer ect.))

It has nothing to do with Steam.

Not really. That is a common misconception. It takes strong equipment to read the card and even then, it is highly encrypted. The first RFID versions that came out were stored in plain text format though. That was why they were so easy to steam information from.

You keep mentioning no other "online" transactions, but what about "offline" ones? If you used it in a store, it's highly likely their card reader was compromised.

I had a brand new card last year, only used on two places online and in one store. Its information was stolen via a compromised card reader in that store and used on the other side of the globe to attempt purchases.

If the charges aren't on your Steam account, do a chargeback through your bank and then cancel the card.

That would harm OP's account as well since the card was used there.
And I believe that card can longer be used (unsure).

Do not do that as that would hit steam with penalties they don;'t deserve. Simply contacting your credit card company and reporting the card stolen will resolve the issue as basically every credit card has theft protection.

Unsure, the CARD would be permanently blacklisted, not sure how that works with a new card being issued if it follows the account.

Legitimate chargebacks are perfectly fine to perform. It only affects the account that has been used for fraud and the payment method can be used again in this circumstance. What isn't tolerated is users doing chargebacks on their own account to bypass refunds. In that case, users are expected to reverse the chargeback and the payment method is banned platform-wide.

Open a chargeback dispute with your credit card issuer.
