it all depends on the countries involved. if the price difference is greater then 10%, you cannot gift it.
due to economic conditions, some countries may not be able to gift at all

telling us what country you are in and what country your friend it in would help people tell you if you can gift to them. otherwise, you can only try to gift to them and it will either go thru or fail.

If that worked people would abuse this to death lol.

Nope, you have to gift them the money basically.

There's easy reasons for this - abuse. People were simply setting up accounts claiming they were in regions where games were cheap and buying them there and transferring them.

So they shut it dowen, obviously.

just try gifting it, surprise the person

don't rely on SteamDB. the website plastered every game with that "cross gifting disabled" sticker:steamfacepalm:

Why? Because it's demonstrably true.

steamDB said Fall Guys, Battlefield 2042, Dying Light 2 has cross gifting disabled but that is simply not true

And how does those exception s demonstrate across the board that the whole site is useless hmm?

There are thousands of games on Steam and you have listed a handful. So advising another to just take the plunge, waste their money and try it is foolish.

Do you see the point?

Why would it be a waste of money? If he cannot gift it to his friend he would be informed as such. No money would be spent.

Oh ok, if that's so I wasn't aware it worked that way.

Even so it's not a good idea as is it really worth pissing around trying randomly through thousands of games for the handful that might have slipped through the net?

I'd token no.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
