No, You can ask support to do so (make a post and flag it), but there is nor guarantee they will comply. A diskussion does not belong to you, just because you started it.

Just report one of the posts and say you want the thread locked or deleted. Up to Mods to do so.

Any post in comments or my post?
Because you can't report your self

If you change the discussion title to wanting it closed a Mod may lock it so no more replies can be made.

It's best to let them be. Using the report tool is misuse. Changing the title makes it look like a pointless spammy thread. Eventually the thread will fall off the first page, at which point hardly anyone will see it unless they're running a search and it comes up.

Just unsubscribe from the thread so you don't get notifications.

It's generally better for threads to just be left as is. Other people can still continue a discussion without you and the thread could be useful for others in the future.

As Matt says, you're better off letting it go.

You should realise that especially on places like Help and Tips, posts aren't just there for YOU. They're for everyone, both now and in future.

It's why I often go and overegg the pudding a bit in my responses because I try to account for this.

So yeah, leaving your thread open and not worrying about if the discussion goes round the houses a bit is no biggie as it may help someone.

If you've had enough of the thread, you simply unsubscrive.

One little side note.
If you've done a bunch of the posting but it goes over 7 all is not lost, though you may need some cooperation.
If you delete your own messages and end up with less than 7 then you can delete it.
However you get the number of messages back down is really irrelevant. Everyone else could delete their own posts too and if you go below 7 you can delete.
Not that its happened often, but at least its a glimmer of hope...
