What's your opinion on steam having LGBTQ+ sales on the front page of the store?

In my opinion this is too political...next thing you know they have -10% on some games for Trump supporters only, or "Communist Sales" every year like the winter and summer sales. I think this is wrong. Steam is all about gaming, LGBTQ+ stuff has nothing to do with it.

They all have characters that are one of the letters in LGBTQ+, that's how. It's a sale, devs/pubs with games that have such characters and/or themes have opted into it.

I don't get why people try so hard to find anything in it.

Trying to carve out what fits into that category is the problem.

This topic can be political or religious, and it is prone to huge arguments.

Honestly, themed sales should be about genres or scenarios, heck even romance in general maybe and mix gay and straight togehter, the point is to sell games and not make a political point. These kinds of social justice inspired ones come across as well meaning but incredibly childish.

To show you how dumb they are let me use the same idea against other groups, black people themed sale event, indian people themed sale event, disabled themed sale lol

At what point does it click that you're being pretty condescending, doesn't really bother me but it is kind of stupid.

Again, I get the person that thought it up meant well but it's not well thought out.

It's almost like someone at Valve was like "awwww poor gay people, it's my job to make them feel better! here have a gay sale yayyyy!"

I mean do gay people all like pink and balloons? I laughed how out of touch it all was.

Here is a shocker, gay people like the same games as everyone else.

There's a sale on Adult Swim Games too.

Feel free to not click on the LGBTQ+ Games Sale tile, and click on that one instead.

I see no issue with themed weekend sales, of any type. If they put one up for Pepe Meme Games, or anything else I had no interest in, I am free to scroll right past it, not click on the tile/link, and not view the sale. Just like everyone else.
