There are a lot of people who wouldn't want their children to see that! :P
Then how about the free to play titles among these, Captain Tinfoil?
Steam lets lewd games on FRONT PAGE and lets members have background profiles of half naked animated women that takes 95% of the screen.
But screenshots in your profiles that no one beside few friends visit is so indecent, you gotta think of the children!
Come on, really..
Ohh, I didn't know how it worked. I only read the words "public" and thought you wanted to show off those pictures everywhere! :P
No. Read Valve's rules on User Generated Content. Screenshots fall under that regardless of what kind of logic you try to use.
Think of the children is just a terrible excuse with all that lewd contents on front page and tens of thousand users with half naked animated women on their profiles.
Once again whatever twist you want to put on it doesn't matter.
The only reason we have adult games is because of the filtering system: you have to explicitly enable this before you can access them. So... enter the non-adult games which can be "uncensored" through a patch, even though the game itself is not marked as adult. So now people who didn't have adult materials enabled can still get confronted with nudity and that is a big no no for Valve.
Had the publisher followed the rules and marked the title as adult and explicit then there wouldn't have been any issues.
Because you can easily share adult screenshots... As long as the game is also marked as adult. Heck... Go check my recent screenshots if you don't believe this 😊
It's not Steam, but the publisher.
If want to upload nude screenshots I suggest making them private, or friends only, but keep in mind, if your friends, or game Dev report your screenshots they may get removed, and you get a temp upload ban, as well the ban extends the more screenshots get deleted by support. If you have friends that can not handle seeing nudes screenshot, I suggest only making private so they don't report you.
Oh it's not the children really, is just overly sensitive people that want things removed from their view.
Anyways you still have to follow the rules, even if game have nude in it. There always a risk your screen shot get ban if someone report it. My suggestion make it private if you want nude screenshots uploaded on your account.
Perhaps Steam doesn’t want players to start using their screen-shot folders as their personal spank-bank.
To the point of the question. Regulations OP. Regulations.
Exactly, your free to post those screenshots under the game where anyone accessing them has to go thru the age gate
