Both a question and a "rant": Steam and Mods... how to download???
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1092097813

This mod used to be on Nexus, but no more.
Now, I am looking to DL this one, I subbed as per the request, only to find... no DL button or link.

Now, how the heck can I get to that bloody mod?

Bah, always issues with Steam... :(

You press the subscribe button. It's that simple.

when you click subscribe steam should Automatically download the mod you should see it downloading just like if it was a new game..... after it finishes it will be installed u don't need to do anything.
Obviously, make sure you have the correct version of Skyrim.

Skyrim SE does not have workshop support.

Edit: If you're using SE, ask in the Skyrim community section someone might still have a copy of it.

Because you do not own the OG Skyrim.

Like usual not a Steam issue at all...

Thank you very much.

That is probably the issue.
I am running the Legendary Edition.

The mod itself should be totally compatible, in itself...
These mods are usually not quite version bound...

What is OG standing for? o_O

Actually, 100% a Steam issue.

Nexus for one would be a good example of being user friendly.
Steam could take quite a few lessons from them.

No it's not a Steam issue. A mod can't work for a version of a game it wasn't designed for. It wouldn't matter if you got it from Nexus or Steam if you're trying to run a mod for a version of a game you don't even own. Accept its PEBKAC and learn.

I disagree. I've found Steam easier for mods then a 3rd party site that also requires you to download software... and two different ones as well, depending on the mod, NMM or Vortex.

Click subscribe on Steam , the mod downloads and is installed. There is no added download button or link.

Going from the original Skyrim to SE, the mod does require rework. There is more of a difference then you think and it really does matter.

OG would be the original Skyrim game, with the DLC. It was 32 bit.

SE (Special Edition) is 64 bit and on an updated engine. It also had all the DLC integrated into it.

As you have the Legendary Edition, then that would be the Original Skyrim with all the DLC.

I did, nothing happened, which I explained in the first post.

I disagree with you disagreeing.
I found and still find Nexus to be darn awesome.
For one, since I can control what gets where and how installed.

Then again, I have been with TES since TES 3 Morrowind/Bloodmoon/Tribunal and have been modding since.
So I am quite very familiar with the workings of manual modding.

Hotsause spoke of OG: what does OG mean, please?
Ignore, I just found it in the here-above post.
So, is this how folks go around here?
One has a problem with a mod, and he suddenly is a hacker?
I am ashamed in your place.

32bit/64bit: a 64bit version of a game can use 32bit mods, unless these are specifically version bound.
The above mod basically is an added skin, and graphics like those are not prone to the bit system.
Of course, it will not work the way around: where a 32bit game will run a 64bit requiring mod.

Correct.
It is not a DLC I am after, but a mod. :)

Then the mod doesn't exist or is broken. I suggest contacting the mod developer.

Funny you think you can disagree that someone disagrees. You can't.

I've been playing TES since The Elder Scrolls: Arena. Modding Daggerfall a bit as I got familiar with editing games. I even made mods for Skyrim here on Steam.

But neither your statement on that matter, nor mine really matter or change the issue.

Who said anything about hacking? I stated the difference between editions.

When it comes to 32/64 bit version, yes, there were issues as the 64 bit engine had many changes made. Modders had to port their mods over and fix them for the Special Edition.

The mod you linked isn't even really a skin as a skin would still take up more then 0.025 MB. It is an edit to the Argonian stats by the looks of it, with simply removing the code for the tail. Nothing seems changed other then that.

Correct.

I suggest re-reading my post as I never said it was a DLC. I was simply explaining (as there seemed to be some confusion on the matter) that you had the correct version, not the SE.

Should and usually, aren't the quite the same as always or guaranteed. IE They usually work, except when they don't.

I mean if the mod isn't supported by your version of the game, and it's not on Nexus. It seems like your issue is with the mod maker. You may not like the Steam workshop, but that ultimately may not be the problem with your mod not working or not being available for your version. The mod maker controls the availability.

But the hacking was not at you, it was at that Hotsause:

Again, correct.
Although, this was not meant as such, but merely informative, no other reason than that.

I sincerely apologize for the bad communication on my behalf!

Now, I will contact the mod creator, as per your idea.

Do you know per chance where the Skyrim Community Section is?
Mr. Bee said I should try there, maybe someone has the mod lying around.
I might as well try this, but I failed to find said section... :(

Thank you very much.

He is thinking you are using SE and not the original. That wasn't an accusation of hacking, just confusion as to what edition you are using.

You can try the comment section of the mod you linked to. Someone there may ask or the original mod maker as they get a notification when someone posts.
