MacOS is a different story.
No reason to kill the webhelpers, since they come back up when you access different parts of the client.
Like u literally get 1 frame per hour when you click on some friend from a friends list with 953 people
Considering the steamwebhelper is the browser part of Steam which is a huge part of the client ... no.
Because that also slows to a crawl.
I'm guessing you're using a red windows color theme to make your games run faster too?
Use Low Performance and Low Bandwith mode?
x64 primarily lets an application address more RAM. If performance problems are related to RAM then sure x64 would help. Otherwise not so much. Programs not using more than 2GB of RAM can probably run just as well as x86.
Eventually I would expect Steam to become x64. But I very much doubt you have more insight into the target platform (x64 or x86) than Valve's developers. And you're over simplifying it with your claim.
