Is valve making games again?

Honestly I think that Portal 3 is unlikely, Valve made the map maker in Portal 2 and there is a fan made "portal" game
Over all I think for the most part Valve is done with Portal at this time, till they maybe get a new idea, or make the "Learning physics with Portals", till then I think we may need to depend on fan made games

They probably always are. They're just not usually the sequels some of us are wishing for, so somehow that doesn't count. And there's this imagination that if they weren't doing all this non-game development stuff then they'd have to make those sequels?

It allways amazes me how people compklain aboyut COpy Paste Sequels ike COd, etc, but then demand copy paste sequels because they want more.

Valve isindeed working on multiple ganmes, just not the games people meme about.

I think their development team is primarily focused on waiting out the current coronavirus crisis before they can come together and brainstorm new developments on the current projects they may have going on. Otherwise I somewhat doubt that they will be making any huge treks with the way the world is currently. At least Gabe seems pleased with New Zealand.

Steam has been needing the most attention ever since it saw a massive increase in traffic from when the whole epidemic started.

It's all about the technology for Valve. If there's new tech they can get excited about you could see a new game. Like Half Life Alyx only exists because of VR.

Valve doesn't know how to count to 3, half life 2 episode 3 or half life 3 never got released, portal 3 wont, left 4 dead 3 wont

What would you expect them to add to Portal 3? Like seriously. YOu want more portal levels ? There's woprkshop content for ya already.

HL2:E3 - After the complaints they got about E1 and E2 feeling too 'samey'? Plus they did release a new HL game. HL:Alyx. WHich actually allowed them to take a slighntly new approach to the game.

HL3 - HL:Alyx. When they can think of a new spin to put on the gamepllay, they'll probably do that. Thoyugh I think Side-STopries and In Universe stories like Alyx are more what you're going to see going forward. Easier to experiment with those.

L4D3 - Again what do you expect them to add here that the modding communit can't hasn't already?

I think the meme here is that people want to HAVE a HL3 or a Portal 3, more than they actually want to PLAY them.

It's not just about the puzzles, the story is also really good. Like, I'd love to know the backstory being chell or hell more backstory on who glados was before she became an AI in a machine. Hell,even though she said she deleted that part of herself at the end of portal 2...I seriously doubt she did. The data equivalent to repressing it, possibly, but deleted? No way and I wanna see more on that story.

Stories have to END at somepoint, otherwise they lose all meaning.
Even cliffhanger endings are sometimes best left as cliff-hangers. See 'The Italian Job'.

CHell was just a random emplloyee. No backstory needed. And detaills as to Glados priopr to AI are already in the games, as much as needed to construct an idea.

Why not?
She has the ability to do so. Our fleshy brains delete stuff all the time (we juust don't have much control over the process). We only resort to repression because we can't actually delete stuff.

No way and I wanna see more on that story.

And thusly you show why they won't continue the stories. Because no matter what they choose some group of people like yourself are going to cry and rage because it goes against what you want to believe as canon.
