Why doesn't Steam get the platinum trophy from PS for getting all achievements for many games?

I noticed quite a few games I have are missing the achievement that is unlocked when you unlock all other achievements, referred to as "platinum" trophy on PlayStation.

Not that this really matters since I'm not an achievement hunter anyway, but it just seems weird that developers go out of their way to remove an achievement for Steam.

Just to name a few games I have that don't have this ultimate achievement:
- Resident evil 2 and 3 remake
- Hitman reboot games
- Dishonored games
- AC Odyssey and Origin

- I'm saying that it would be great if all devs could do what some devs are doing, by making an extra achievement that unlocks when all achievements are umlocked.
- you are saying that the system where a trophy pops up automatically once all other trophies are unlocked is a sony exclusive, potentially copyrighted feature.

There you go. There is exactly zero conflict between both statements, they are just talking about different aspects.

I agree that there is no conflict between the 2, but that is because they complete each other. The fact that the platinum trophies are part of how the PS ecosystem works and could be under copyright/trademark/patent IS the reason why the achievement is missing when the devs just port over the same achievement list. It's not deviating the conversation to an irrelevant topic... It is the main part of the full answer to your question... Without that information, it would make no sense that devs need to create this new achievement manually when they can just port over the rest of the trophy list to achievements.

So yes, when he brought up that point, I already moved on. Plus he kept saying how I was missing his point which made things even more confusing. He started talking about the copyright aspect of the platinum system when I never asked for Steam to have a similar feature, it is not that related to the question of why not all devs make an extra achievement because this is not copyrightable.

When have I backpaddled or moved the goalpost? I literally made it clear in my first reply to you that I was talking about something different from you. Sure, you are allowed to say anything you want in my thread, this is a free discussion board. But you need to STOP replying to me and forcing me to converse with you when I have made abundantly clear that I'm NOT INTERESTED in your discussion about COPYRIGHT since it has nothing to do with my current question about individual dev's work.

Because Platinum is meaningless at the end of the day. Even on PlayStation some games don't have a Plat.
And Platinum doesn't mean you've got all the achievements. Sure, the DLCs aren't needed for Platinum (which is kinda based ngl), but then even some base game stuff doesn't count. For example I have a Plat in Horizon Forbidden West, but I don't have all the New Game+ achievements, which is a part of the base game, so why do I have a trophy for getting all the trophies when I didn't get them all?
And there's also the inconsistency : sometimes multiplayer trophies are separate, sometimes not, sometimes it's a combination of both.
And it gets more confusing for re-releases. For example DmC Devil May Cry Definitive Edition for PS4 - you buy the base game with its DLC, can't separate them, and all the trophies are part of the base game. But then there is The Last of Us Remastered - same story, DLCs included automatically, but the DLC trophies are separate and aren't needed for the Plat, despite being inseparable on PS4.
So yeah, Platinum Trophy is a nothing trophy
