Placing a Discord invite link that connects with the game itself.
Hello everyone,

Quick question regarding 'advertising'.

If you post a Discord invite link that connects to that game on the discussions of the game itself. Is this seen as advertising?

Basically, lets say this as an example.

Call of Duty's game hub.
You post a thread or a comment to help out other members sharing a Discord link of Call of Duty and no other Discord server. Just Call of Duty Discord invite on the Call of Duty game hub.

Is this allowed or not? I'm asking this because a little while ago my comment got reported with this same case, me posting a Discord invite link on a game's hub that directs/sends you to their game's Discord server.

Thank you,

Wholf

ask in that games forum. the game hubs are moderated by the game developers and the people they appoint

if you have to ask, its normally not a good idea to do it

But I do not see a single problem if you share the Discord invite link of their own game.

Is it their official Discord server that they've shared with the userbase on the forums? Or is it a Discord server ran by a third party that just happens to be about the game? If the latter, yeah it's 100% advertising the way I see it.

It's their official Discord server, not ran by fans.
