Can you be more specific? If you already bought the game from a different store, what are you trying to set up in Steam?

If it says you need permission from the owner, then it sounds like you're trying to use family sharing with a Steam version of the game that belongs to a different Steam account, but that wouldn't have anything to do with the Microsoft store.

The best thing you can do in Steam is add an "external game" to it so that you can start it from Steam but that's about it. This is not something that can be done with games from the Microsoft store because these don't get installed as regular games: they don't have an obvious executable which you start.

You can't. Games bought on Microsoft store don't transfer to steam anymore then a game bought on Xbox transfers to PS4

You run it from the client you bought it from

Steam is not a charity, therefore, they wont give you a free copy of MSFS, when you paid another store for a license. If you want to use steam service, then pay steam for it.

No you don't. Steam provides free steam keys devs can sell on other stores. All the developer/publisher need to do is publish game on Steam and they can generate Steam keys to be sold on other platforms. Out of over 2200 games I own on Steam, Over 2100 have been bought outside of Steam as Steam Keys.

Microsoft just doesn't want to distribute Steam keys and want to promote it's own store platform instead similar to Epic or GOG.

You bought the game on Steam?
Then you install and play the game from Steam. (not XBox)
