Can I log in on somebody else’s steam account with my internet to download one of their games faster?

My bfs steam account doesn’t download games when his computer is on sleep mode and his internet is slow when it comes to downloading things. Would I be able to log in on his account and download the game for him with my internet? Would it get his or my account banned?

you need to have his computer connected to your internet if you want to download thru your connection. and sleep mode is just that, the computer is sleeping, not completely powered down but also not doing anything. it just like you sleeping, your not doing anything when you sleep.

it would be best for him to log in and do anything related to the account. you are not suppose to give anyone your account log in (its in the SSA), does not matter how much you trust them.

That could work and wouldn't get you banned. Just make sure that only one of you is logged on, if he decides to log on while you're also logged on then you'll be kicked off again.

After that he can copy the game files into his Steam program folder, try the download again during which his Steam client should recognize all the files present.
