Furthermore, it also largely goes like this - if it's say, Chinese New Year, it will be a smaller sale. If it's Halloween, it will be a smaller sale, with emphasis on spookiness.
But you will ALWAYS get the two major sales every year - Summer and Winter at the same times. Some say these vary, but nobody's offered any evidence of this.
All I can tell you is that I work at Glastonbury Festival and I have done for about 20 years now. And I ALWAYS am sat in a field with my laptop, waiting for the sale to start. So I know it has always been the same.
