Rocket League was removed from Steam last month, so it couldn't have been recently as such transaction should have stopped at the same time.
Go here, and click on the transaction, you should get options what to do there, you want to do this within 48hours from the date you bought it, and do not use any of the ingame stuff to consume anything.

You can still do in game purchases with RL. You just can’t buy the base game on Steam anymore
Yeah but the question is since its pulled from steam is that going thru Steam or Epic when you do an in game purchase?
You need to make an epic account
Then you link your steam account to your epic account

Select steam as your primary platform
Then you play RL through steam
You can then literally never have look at your Epic account again. I’d recommend enabling 2FA on your epic account as epic account are still targeted by spammers and scammers
You’ll get a bunch of bonus items
Pulling the game for sale doesnt aleviate the requirement that games must use steam's in-game purchasing mechanism. The game basically pops a steam overlay that takes you to the steam wallet purchase interface to buy anything wihtin Rocket League
There's a reason RL was pulled from steam even though the game is F2P. Steam requires all purchses go through steam if you buy on steam. Games can obviously circumvent this by basically creating their own store and having users bypass this outisde the game. For Elite Dangerous, any account that is linked to steam in any way, requires Frontier to pay steam the 30% cut they would normally get through the steam store regardless of where that purchase is made. RL obviously didn't want this. So they basicaly sucked it up for existing Steam customers but new customers wont be subject to the "steam tax" on purchase.
