Why did Red Dead Redemption win game of the year but it came out 3 years ago?

DOOM Eternal, a much better game and a game that actually came out this year, should've won by far.

So basically to sum this discussion how OP replying in discussion.

You fail to realize, we have millions of people that voted for their game of choice to be nominated back in November, and games with the most votes get place in the top 5 per category. Then the final voting take place for best game out of the top 5 per category also handle by millions of people that voted, and you're upset the game you voted for didn't win, oh well not everything will go your way in life.

Also BTW OP, there no reason for you the lash out at others for having different opinion than you, everyone has their own personal opinion in this world. It only makes you look more silly you getting mad at someone for not liking the game as much as you do.

Not accepting other people's opinions is just plain stupid. You are NOT the arbiter of what is right and wrong.

The fact remains that the people EN MASSE DID think that Red Dead Redemption 2 WAS the game of the year for them.

And again, this isn't anything like a big surprise. It's a phenomenal game that did really well, and again, all regions, ages, and circumstances of people like it. That is a BIG positive for such things.

But not only that, again, go look at any of the steam metrics and you'll see how it stacks up to other games as far as played time and popularity goes.

Just remember - you get to have your OWN opinion, just as everyone does. but you do NOT get to have your own facts.
Opinions are subjective, facts ain't.

Yeah, I can see quite the opposite from your posts frankly.

You may THINK you are, but the reality is if you were you'd see easily that Red Dead Redemption 2 was an obvious win.

It's basic human nature and you could have easily predicted it from the stats here.
