Like, charging money to be able to play multiplayer?
140 cheaply made games you are unlikely to ever play.
Or are you seriously talking about older blockbusters and new releases?
Humble Choice Represent.
I prefer to be on PC so I don't want to turn this into a general console vs PC thing. That being said in my case it doesn't really matter that you get charged $70 a year to play online. My gf and I both play online games together and with Xbox any games I purchased was shared with her. We could play online together or single player games it didn't matter.
It still cheaper than buying every game we play twice and that's all I'm saying. This family sharing plan is really not as good as what is offered by Xbox and hopefully that can change one day.
Knocked a few things off my wishlist (Chaosbane, Song of Horror, Ancestors, Pathologic 2, and the Vampire: The Masquerade game). Can't really complain, myself.
No, I'm specifically referring to the subject, game sharing. Playing games is free on PC anyway.
Aren't they removing the gold pass thing? I don't remember, I don't have xbox or its pass.
* Banning your console
* Banning your account
* Banning any account that has ever logged into the console
* Banning other consoles tainted accounts have logged into.
Steam at worst can shut down an account. That's not that relevant since anyone trying to abuse the system will ensure the account has as least value as possible. Meaning they only have to extract as much value as a single game costs. After that if the account is terminated its irrelevant. It also allows them to scale that to many accounts as well. They can have hundreds of accounts running simultaneously with zero risk.
Again on xbox, ms can ban your system console from EVERYTHING. It not only will do that, it has the ability to :
1) any account thats shared with the banned account
2) any account that has even breathed on a banned console
3) Ban other console that banned account has ever logged into
This makes it EXTREMELY unattractive to both the person trying to 'rent' out an account, but also to any potential customers who risk their online accounts and their entire console from being banned.
These are things steam can't enforce which is why steam has to make its sharing more restrictive because it has no nuclear options to prevent abuse.
Cheers,
