New seasonal badge, works the same way as the Debut Collection Badge.
New seasonal profile, winter themed blue wonder.
New Winter Collection items like frames.
Now, i can finally get rid of cringey custom info box and add something interesting.
I really love the new completionist showcase, it's something that should've been there long ago. <currently limited to two perfect games>, but you can buy more room via the points shop.
Isn't that just swell.
Either that, or rely on awards, but at least the new showcases are free and require no points.
Extra room does seem like a luxury, and i do agree that spending points for that is a bit too far.
I am assuming we are supposed to be getting a video showcase to our profiles (but not added yet, maybe because the sale just started and there might be some problems) and that's why there is an option to upgrade and get a second one from the point store.
Or am I missing something?
I agree, they went a bit overboard with the prices.
You buy the expansion and it shows as a second showcase to be selected. It does not increase the number of total showcases (from what i can tell)
Well to be clear some of these are actually upgrades that are otherwise impossible to get. For example my Game Collector Showcase can now show 8 games instead of 4.
The question is - will you have vanilla copy or with all upgrades. Not worth in any case at this price.
That doesn't defend them being ridiculously overpriced in my book. They could have tied them to the level system just as well. Which is already a money printing machine for them.
I prefer this way though. The level system involves me crafting badges which is something I rarely do.
Purchasing games on the other hand I do quite often so I'm now getting benefits from the activity that I actually do (and in my opinion is the one Steam would want to encourage more).
I also don't find it especially expensive but I've got like 100K points at the moment and will likely have more after I actually make my sales purchases.
