Origin has 2 options, EA Play and EA Play Pro. Both have Anthem as they left it on Origin.
They said to talk to steam about the missing games.. Then mentioned something about steam having to pay for certain games and that steam wanted to make money by selling the actual games and keeping them off of EA play on steam. So I basically said its the same price but steam is blocking some games so they can sell the games? Anthem isn't even listed on steam for sale but its a part of the Ea play thing for 4.99/month..
In the end it basically came down to me not buying ea play through steam again, Ill just get it through origin next month and steam will lose money..
Ultimately I don't want a bunch of launcher programs like epic, steam, uplay, origin etc.. One all access app would be nice.
Friend of mine also asked EA support about missing games like Anthem in EA Play on Steam, the answer they received was "we're not planning on making everything available on Steam".
Also keep in mind that EA Play on Steam only has their own EA games. EA Play on Origin has 3rd party games. Difference in that is due to EA owning Origin and likely the agreements with 3rd parties only being for inclusion on Origin.
EA Play on the xbox gamepass will likely get the same treatment.
You were talking to a support agent. They knows ♥♥♥♥ all about contracts and arrangements with business partners. And even IF they knew, they won't tell you as this is in breach of their own contract.
Whatever they told you was just their own brain farts and best guesses. (Which is also one of the reasons Valve provides standardized answers on supprot requests.)
So let’s see you “talked” to someone. Who then? Support? Do you think anyone on EA support has any clue what the publishing deal is between Valve and EA
Let’s also then look into the claim “valve wants to make money on games” ok so by your example that literally makes no sense. anthem isn’t on sale on steam. You can’t buy it. So valve wants to make money off of selling a game that isn’t available on their platform.....???????
Despite the fact that Fallen Order and Squadrons are both on Steam
Please try and think about that for literally more than 5 seconds
Games on Steam - https://www.ea.com/ea-play/games#steam - (Anthem not included)
EA Play (Origin) - https://www.ea.com/ea-play/games-ea-play - (Anthem not included)
EA Play Pro (Origin only) - https://www.ea.com/ea-play/games#ea-play-pro - (Anthem included)
That's because EA chose to offer it that way on Steam. The list of games is also readily available. Being unable to read is the fault of the consumer.
