Is 14 MB/s a decent download speed?
That's it, just wondering.

Depends on your internet, download location server, and the game itself.
But... being honest 14 MB is ... "normal" or a little slow. (for me)

If you live in South Asia then yes

Depends on many factors.

For me, yes it is. I can pay for 1gb speeds and I do.

How long is a bit of a string?

Seriously, it really depends on YOUR internet. THere's many people use Steam and they vary from ranging in the kilbits per second to GIGAbits per second.

Your best bet is to - while not downloadin anything - do an online speed test and see what your baseline is. www.speedtest.net is a venerable old one to use.

Then if you're looking at the statem stats when downloading make sure if you're seeing the result repiorted in MBps (and not Mbps) that you multiply the result by 8.

its around a 112 mbit line ..

so when compare to a 1gbit line wich is 125 MB/s .. then you only download with 1/10 of what thous type of lines can do ..

and 125 MB/s is freaking fast .. it will take less than 10 min to download 75 gigabytes

Hell, it's better than mine. I download at 2 mb/s on a good day, 1.5 mb/s on a regular one.

Download other than where you're DLing from, your internet speed etc - will also only be as fast as your slowest part that affects the download speed (Laptop HDD, slow HDD etc)

14 MB/s is 112 Mb/s which is pretty damn great! More than enough to watch online video while still downloading. That's under a day for modern games. I dare to claim that the average game has less than that.

yes it's pretty slow. if it's under 120MB/s or 1 gigabit that's slow

Honestly, many people are still using DSL 16k here in Germany ( 1,8 MB/s) so its a good speed.

I went from 16k (1,8 MB/s) (2008-2016) to 50k ( 6MB/s) (2016-2020) and just this year switched to 250k (31 MB/s) after it became available here in my street.
And i live in a city so even there its not always available.

Pretty happy so far with 31MB/s, a 100 GB game takes like 50 minutes to download which is still very fast in my opinion.
Of course there are always faster options SOMEWHERE but its also a cost/benefit calculation.

I pay 40 Euro a month for my 250k connection, combined with a phone flat rate and i think thats good value.
A few years ago the 250k lines were still double that.

What ISP do you have? 31 MB/s seems to be barely affordable, I pay 40 €/month for 60 Mb/s.
