Other than buying games, is there a way i could potentially buy an item from a in-game store or DLC, and it'd award me points?

Little off-topic but the dumbest rule is needing to own a game before buying emoticons/profile artwork, like who the hell even thought of that?

You can still purchase game related emotes and profile artwork from the market without having to own the game.

That seems to be a per-game thing. Some require it, some don't.

Buy games, spend money on steam, $1=100 points
also get people to award your posts, you get 100 points per award, which costs them 300. (there's some more valuable ones that can give more points)

It's probably available on the marketplace. Or you could buy the cards for that game, craft the badges, and hope the one you want drops.
