Steam Argentina Region

hey guys so my steam was hacked it was argentina region now its back to my original country and converted my ars to usd (189ars to 1.92usd) i was about to buy something now i can no longer since the currency differences is there anyway i can change it back my whole history is ars it says converted how can i convert it back???

Are you in Argentina now? Is the bank you use in Argentina?

Valve has cracked down a lot on user who were trying to claim they were in Argentina, just to get cheaper games then their actual region.

If you do not live in Argentina, nor have a payment method from Argentina (eg: An Argentina address, tied to an Argentina bank) then that may be why your region was changed.

If you live in Argentina and have such a bank account that you use for purchases, then you should be able to change the region back, though there may be a restriction on how much time has passes since a previous change and/or how often you can do so.

so I guess by «no» you actually mean «yes, it is being shown as "Argentina"»
in that case I really have no idea sorry, personally I'd contact Steam Support since your account was hacked and your circumstances are exceptional and all

but, the thing is, if Steam does convert currencies, converting it back would just lose you even more money, assuming it works the same as currency conversions on other platforms

im not living in argentina but my steam was arg but after the hack it got reset i had 189ars i was about to purchase product that cost 169ars now its $1.92 and the product is $5

Then your region was changed to reflect your current region. You do not live in Argentina, so you shouldn't be paying those prices.

There is also the matter of taxes that may need to be collected and sent to the correct government body on purchases.

It sounds like it wasn't the hacker that changed it, imho.

If you do not live in Argentina you don't get their currency. It was changed to your current country. So don't buy steam account from random people in hope of cheating the system.

Aside from the changed store location, is there anything else that makes you think you were "hacked"? If not, then I doubt you are having security problems. Maybe Valve just caught on to the fact that you were breaking the rules.

i do not live in argentina i live in egypt which is completely being disgraced by the whole world so what im supposed to do pay over price cuz egypt dont have fair prices as argentina ?

Accounts aren't usually hacked, they are hijacked. Also, you can't change it back unless you have a payment method from Argentina, as has been explained to you.

You can justify it however you want - Valve is still within their rights to take action against your account. No one here can - or should - help you circumvent Steam's subscriber agreement (which you have openly admitted doing).

well im not wiling to pay like a whole overprice just cuz my country is disgraced
here is example a game like dead by daylight
it cost $20
and 669ars
for me ill have to buy 700ars which i did cost me 140egp
while $20 would cost me 340egp a whole over price you expect me to pay for that?
