Bad phone number

It constantly appears of this message "Bad phone number" when i want to register my phone number to activate mobile authenticator

You should have a phone# registered no matter the mobile authenticator, it's always good for recovering the account should you give it away for some reason.

That said, are you providing the FULL number, including the country code?

You need a smart phone or something. It won't take a landline or pre-pay cheap phone at all.

Not this at all. One doesn't need a smartphone. Any mobile number will work. It's not like there's smartphone numbers and dumbphone numbers, there's just mobile numbers, that's it.

The number may not be connected to an VoIP (internet bases) service and may not have been used by an account that got VAC banned within the last six month or so.

The cooldown used to be 3 months but was removed around the time they added VACnet.

How does a VAC ban affect my phone number?

VAC bans will be applied to all accounts sharing a phone number at the time of the infraction. Accounts that do not own the game the VAC ban is for will still receive a VAC ban and won't be able to purchase the game moving forward.

The phone number on the VAC banned account(s) will be suspended for three months and cannot be added to another account during this time. If the phone number is later added to an account that receives a VAC ban, the duration of its suspension will be extended.

How do VAC bans relate to my phone number?

VAC bans are applied to all accounts sharing a phone number at the time of the infraction. For this (and many other) reasons we do not recommend sharing your phone number or using another user's phone number on your account. Accounts sharing the phone number that do not own the game the VAC ban is for will still receive a VAC ban and will not be able to purchase the game moving forward.

There are no restrictions placed on phone numbers that were on an account when the account was VAC banned; phone numbers can immediately be used on new accounts.

I use it for emergency only. $100 a year and I must have 500 banked unused from previous years... $14 cheap phone works perfect for me. It was rejected by steams system flat out. As well as my land line. I have been sent text and pics before from friends.
