[DISCUSSION] Newzoo Report Doesn't Match Steam Top 100 Rankings : Steam
If you read the report in the link below, you will notice that the games are heavily biased towards Tencent-owned games.

https://newzoo.com/insights/rankings/top-20-core-pc-games/

The list doesn't even show Counterstrike: GO and DOTA2 is smaller than League of Legends.

Is this report accurate?

i never trust new sources from the netherlands as most just steal data. their laws pretty much protect them doing such things. https://newzoo.com/privacy-policy/

as well as they are satire news. non official news. so everything they post is a biased post normally influenced by payments of some form

tbh they can do whatever they want or say whatever they want. once they listed themselves as a satire website. that is why i avoid them as tehy are trying to push personal matters other than hard truths.

Yes, it's biased, heavily biased towards Tencent games.

But where did they admit they were satire?

We don't take their data seriously but that doesn't mean other people don't.

It's like sky daddy religions, where did they admit they were false?

First of all, this is based on Overwolf
So this is only for players that use that, I will take a wield guess that most players don't use it, and even less use it if it does not give them some game help as it does for games like League of legends
So I will not really trust that data

Besides that, I am not familiar with the site, but nothing on their site seems to say they are "satire"

What's that?

What's that?

Overwolf is an API game developers can use to integrate web content into their video games. Usually things like a store, an IM client. Basically all the things you wouldn't need if you've already got Steam integration but are vital for games that don't.

How do you know it's based on Overwolf?

How do you know it's based on Overwolf?
The article you linked states it in the first paragraph.

The ranking is based on the millions of PC gaming enthusiasts who use any of Overwolf’s in-game apps.
