Call your ISP. Mine slows down my steam downloads every year and I have to threaten to switch to get them to stop.

Note there are other causes/ solutions to this problem but this is the one that I am familiar with.

With such lack of information, it's impossible for us to give any accurate answer as it could be a whole number of things.

First off, what games are you downloading? This is important because games download differently. Some just toddle along in a constant stream, others - like Payday 2 or Ark SE - will download a chunk, stop while it unpacks and decrypts, before carrying on downloading. It often gives people the impression there's something amiss, when it's actually normal behaviour.

Furthermore, you haven't told us how you're connecting? Is it wifi or via cable? If wifi ALWAYS try to first bung in a cable and see if the issues persist, as wifi interference is INCREDIBLY common. Electrical items in your house and the actual ring main of your house can wreck signals.

Next, speedtest to see if others things suffer from the same issues. See if you can narrow it down to being either Steam or ALL your internet.

Start there and see how you get on.

Well, there's still a bit of vagueness in that, so I'try to break down the next step.

First off, when you mention those speeds (Battle net and Steam) are you using the inbuilt tools in Battle net and Steam to report the speed? In which case, that could be part of your issue.

You see, Steam reports in MEGABYTES per second, and not megaBITS, so the speed stated on the downloads page of Steam MUST be multiplied by 8 to get your actual "normal" speed in Megabits per second.

So this would suggest that you are not getting 15 meg on Steam but 120Mb/s.

Although there may be more to it than this. I just mention that to avoid confusion.

If you're supposed to be getting 300 meg down, then those speeds aren't great at all. I'm in Britain and I live out in the rural countrside, and I have a 60 meg connection. When I download I get around 55. So yours is WAY off.

So I'm afraid you're going to need to do more testing as you've reported this across all downloads.

I'd try to widen the net a bit. Try downloading ANYTHING and everything just to get speed reports. DO NOT use a speedtester to report speeds while you're downloading as that doesn't work and if you're doing that, that is probably why you're getting bad results.

i understand the difference i got 300 megabits/s using okla to check so after conversion it will become 37ish megabits/s which is the same as my battlenet and other software like origin also. its just steam its also megabytes/s and it ended up cutting into half which is 17.5ish megabytes/s top which lasted for arnd 3 seconds after download have started.

It's really easy to know which download server to use - pick ANY.

Many people on here make the mistake of thinking that when you choose a download server you MUST choose one near you. This is wrong. It ain't like online gaming where ping is a requirement to be at optimum. You're just downloading.

So you can choose ANYWHERE in the world. And in fact, choosing anywhere near you is the WRONG thing to do - so it's kind of polar opposite to online gaming.

The reason why is this - if your default local servers are congested and causing slow speeds, then chances are your neighbouring ones are going to as well. The best rule of thumb I can suggest is simply this - whenever you try to download, have a quick Google to see which region of the globe is currently around 2 am to 4 am. Choose any country in that area. Simple as that.

Obviously if it's around that time of the morning for them, the least amount of people are going to be using it.

With the lack of information...Did you run a speed test online? Could help figure out your issue.

Did anyone actually think for a second, that their Internet might just be Blocking
their Internet Traffic from going through?

The Cause might be coming from the ISP or the Internet Provider themselves?

No?

I saw some code on my TV's Web Browser that clearly showed Blocking of
a Service... How was I able to see this Code? I was able to see the Code,
because people aren't very bright right now, & the Company more then likely
doesn't even know that people can bluntly see the Code they are creating right
there on their TV screens, o_@

I am guessing this could be a form of what they are calling Net Neutrality? ~__~

No, we are perfectly aware of it. It has happened before = Comcast for example, have been shown to do this in the past on here.

But the thing is that's something you CANNOT easily fix. So troubleshooting dictates we go through the stuff you CAN change and check first.

OP, that speed test seems a bit off - you're gettinga decent download speed but a horrendously low upload. Is that normal, because I'm sure it shouldn't be.

And it could indicate where the problem lies. If you're getting a lousy upload speed, that means it's going through your cabling and household FIRST. So I'd start doing the usual - start at your PC, make sure it's plugged into cable (NOT wifi as that's always bad for interference from rf) and work backwards to see your cabling' is all good and free from tabngles around power cables and your router is away from large eletrical items.

Make sure the router has been cold rebooted and update the firmware if you can.
