Casual games help ideas
Hello, i have a mother who has problems with her left arm/hand she loves to relax with games so i wanted to gift her a game but it needs to be somewhat casual since it might take time for her because of it. It might be good if theres multillanguage and maybe controller support for the game. I hope you guys have some ideas for some games.

The problem with Recettear is that the dungeon crawling part is definitely used to get into the story lore, and you won't be able to do much without it.

Unless you can find some way to re-route the keyboard controls all to the right hand. And even then, the dungeon-crawling segments are pretty action-oriented, where you can't just take your time and take forever to do stuff, so I wouldn't recommend it for this case, even though I really like it.

If your mother appreciates storytelling, especially storytelling chock full of details that she can explore, then give her this:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/251150

This game is also available DRM-free at GOG:
https://www.gog.com/game/the_legend_of_heroes_trails_in_the_sky
and at the Humble Store:
https://www.humblebundle.com/store/the-legend-of-heroes-trails-in-the-sky

There are tons of things to see and do in this JRPG and everything can be done via mouse.

Or keyboard. Or controller. Or keyboard + mouse. It's actually very flexible about control schemes.

I showed her most of the games and she wanted to try barn finders so i also showed her houseflipper so to start with its properly gonna be those two. And maybe if she feels up to it we can try some puzzle ones too. Thank you all for the suggestions.

I kinda remember skipping the dungeon parts for Recettear, Quint, once I got the formula down. Though I confess it's been years since, so I could be wrong.

This is a similar title, but dungeons are replaced by hidden objects scenes. It's a simple game, good for a bit of fun years ago, I remember. Quite cheap during sales. I got it in a dollar bundle and this was one of the better games I tried out.

You can absolutely skip the dungeon parts once you've done the slowish tutorial first few days.

The mechanics of the game are that you dungeon crawl with your chosen hero associate, who fights for you, and the loot gained you get to sell in your shop. You set the prices accordingly to balance between making a good profit and repeat trade.

But you can absolutely skip it and just go to other shops in town and get your stock that way.

Admittedly, it is missing out a big chunk of the fun, but you're right it is certainly possible.

Sorry to hear about your Mom. Microsoft sells gaming peripherals geared towards gamers with special needs. Unfortunately the peripherals are expensive.

That's why I referenced people like Able Gamers - they are a charity that can help with both pointing you towards peripherals, not just the MS stuff (which is bloody excellent and really easy to mod) but they also can find funding too, afaik.
