Price are higher on national currency
Hi
Few weeks age steam "allow us" to buy games in Polish Zloty...
But why prices are higher then they was in euro/dollar?

I would like to have possiblility to choose currency in shop.
Now i won't buy any game from simple reason... they were cheaper...

Why simple currency conversion rises prices?

it is not ok Steam...

Publishers set the prices, so complain to them if you think it's too high.

You don't get point.
here is example:
game1 cost 10euro -> ~45 pln
after "PLN" change it cost 65 PLN.
same game, no discount in both cases.

Steam "conversion rate" is just exceptionally high...

That's because the publisher set 65 PLN as the price.

Saretti - lets do quick check OK?
Type me how much YOu have to pay now for ie. "Farm Simulator 17".
Type Your currency price and any internet money converter value how much it is in PLN.

It is all up to the developer. If you don't like the price of something in the currency that you are using then don't buy it.
Cow Dec 14, 2017 @ 3:14am
same as above - do quick test with me :)
your currency - converted currency to PLN - one game...

it is not about price itself - it is about convertion rate...
c'mon guys... You really don't get it?

Will you please understand the following:
PUBLISHERS SET THE PRICE

They set it higher than EUR. Complain to them.

As others have stated. Devs set prices. We know that there are currency discrepancies, but it is due to various reasons decided upon by devs.

This ranges from average income of a country, local taxes and so forth. One can't choose currency because that would lead to grey market trading.

You want say that STEAM contacted EVERY developers and asked for price in PLN for people in POLAND every single game on STEAM? and You really belive that?

Or, you know, the dev handles the price like the rest of the store page info? Adds the information themselves.

No one mentioned anything that this thing called regional pricing.

Currency conversion are based the country income/tax which already mentioned above.
In my country games on normally 6-60% cheaper except that amount already considered high due our income are pretty low.
Ofc some game pretty much the same with base price which is USD.

It's similar to Euro =/= USD

Not sure I follow what you're trying to say. The prices on games aren't one to one conversion on rates which fluctuate daily, even hourly. That would be ridiculous. Prices are decided upon by the developers/publishers for a specific region or country based on various factors.

The OP wants it to be a one to one conversion from euro to his local currency because he feels paying in euro was cheaper. He is complaining about the newly set prices, by the devs.
Cow Dec 14, 2017 @ 5:08am
because it was cheaper before :)
keep in mind that i've still paid in EURO/US DOLLAR on my credit card.
So my bank also do convertions to PLN.

Now, "thanksfully" i can pay in PLN... but in fact - they make a rise...

There is no conversion. Prices are simply get by the developer at what they feel is right for said region.
