Steam Advertising Warnings *RANT*
So, Steam is getting out of hand with their warnings, and whatnot.

Earlier, today, I got a warning stating that I was advertising, and I can't see how putting a link to your Steam group is considered advertising, as I am not posting up links to purchase items, and things like that. This is really unfair, and I don't know why Steam allows users to have their own links to their groups, in that case.

It is advertising your group.
And that's not Steam, that's a moderator warning you.
An ad doesn't have to be for paid items.
Also, the link is for your friends to join the group.
Posting a link to your Steam group = advertising your Steam group.

Not sure what's so hard to understand about that.

It is advertising, you advertise your own group to gain members.

I can see you're inept to things, let me explain. you are advertising / promoting your group by linking it. what youre doing is adveritising in literal definition lol
I will repeat what was said on your warning:

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/advertising

Full Definition of advertising

1: the action of calling something to the attention of the public especially by paid announcements
-----

You don't have to be advertising a service or product for it to be advertising.

The rules say advertising is not allowed. That includes Steam Groups. There are around 10k forums but over 5 million Steam groups. If advertising was allowed, every forum would be full of Group advertising.

Discussions and threads are for discussing various things that are not disallowed in the rules. They are not to advertise in.
