You still need the origin launcher even if you bought the games on steam
if you just want play & already have them installed add the games as non-steam game
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2219-YDJV-5557
anyway remember non-steam / steam EA games still need a origin account for access the service
EA hasn't opted their Origin titles to work the other way around.
Tell me which other service allows you to add your games from their clients to Steam.
I'll wait...
GOG Connect, where you get a GOG copy of selected games you own on Steam, (but seems to be inactive now) is not the case, but publishers do decide whether they want their game on GOG Connect or not.
I had ME1 and ME2 on steam, but ME3 never came.
So I bought trilogy and the stupid DLC packs on Origin. It was annoying, they didn't have a shopping cart.
My bank called, that was interesting, but somewhat heartwarming. The agent said that the lack of a shopping cart was "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid" then apologized for swearing.
I told her it was christmas, and all was forgiven.
All the titles added "Back" to steam? Still need Origin. It's just an additional complication.
What I do now is, if a game is Ubisoft? I buy it on uPlay. If it's EA? I buy it on Origin. If it's on offer for free, I redeem it on Epic Game Store.
My computer can't run any current rockstar games, but if I wanted one of theirs, I'd buy it there.
I still like STEAM best, but I kind of hate that the other services essentially slot empty boxes on steam these days, and you have to download their Disney + to get at it.
Oh shoot, I thought Epic was the one getting flack from people (including me) for not having a shopping cart.
Shows how little I buy from Origin directly (I've bought Origin games from Amazon, for instance).
