Tips for making a few dollars on steam
Okay so a brief introduction: I've recently seen a couple of those market flipping videos and decided to challenge myself by starting with 1$ and perhaps making use of my steam wallet. With the current budget its surely taking a while but I'm making progress.

Meanwhile all of that is going on I wanted to learn a bit more about how to increase my income. And what better place to ask than steam itself right?

Now as for this thread I wanted to know if there are any other effective methods at this point in time. I've been told trading can be a good way to make a few dollars although I haven't had the time to check it out myself.

If anyone has any suggestions of what I could do and where I can start from it would be much appreciated! :cleanseal:

But that's basically the whole thing; trying to obtain items cheap(er) and then selling them for more. Quite frankly I wouldn't rely on this mechanic as 'easy' income.

Game ownership isn't a requirement though.
Good point (I always overlook that part). It is one of the (legit) ways to get certain items for "free" though (maybe better put: without extra costs).

if your looking to do this for income as you say, just get a job. the time spent for what you will get in return isn't anywhere near being worth it.

personally i make investments for fun in steam but you have to wait months if not years for prices on items to go up significantly. as with everything in life the best way to make money is to already have money, which is why just getting a job, whatever job that may be from a paper round to something more 9 to 5 will be better.

also keep in mind you can also lose money, there is no guaranteed way to make any amount of money by trading/investing or whatever

Maybe I've expressed myself wrong but by no means do I expect getting something out of this. Its just a little experiment I wanted to try during my free time. Seeing if all those people talking about how well investing in the steam market goes are exaggerating or not. As for income I was referring to my steam wallet, that's why I was asking for suggestions on other methods as I felt like there was more to it than just selling low float CS:GO skins for a higher price. Thanks a lot for the advice though.

The money making days are over. Used to be csgo keys and skins you could trade around and eventually cash out on with certain websites.

But that's all related to the gambling problem, so its mostly gone. Nowadays your lucky to make a few bucks to buy a game selling stuff.

It's better to just buy up stuff and horde it till it's super rare then sell it at a massive profit. Lesser known games get higher prices on cards to start with so thats something to consider.

ok sorry for the missunderstanding then

i'll throw my example into the mix. in 2018 i bought about £100 worth of kennys stickers for £0.40 each (CSGO) they were available for a limited time. i've sold them off now 2+ years later for £5+ each, currently you can sell for £10+

i made a decent amount, you still can but as i say your waiting years for a payoff
