It's in the most general of discussions. And people were having a general discussion about the topic. Is there a rule violated or did the mod just not like the topic. I'm confused by this.

The Steam discussion subforum is for discussions about the Steam client and the services. Your thread has a subject that concerns Game developers/publishers, not Steam itself.

Would have been better to perhaps move the thread instead of locking it. However, the remark by Spawn is correct, though. If you want achievements in older games, contact the game devs.

General discussions not about Steam itself generally speaking go in Steam community or Off-Topic.

The discussion shifted from adding achievements to the program used to decompile the code. For that you can simply start a new thread in off-topic.

The original post was answered several times and you were directed to who you need to suggest such things to.

So the original discussion wasn't even something that Valve does, and the latter one didn't even involve Steam.
