Why do some games have "Profile Features Limited?"
Why do some games have "Profile Features Limited?" Why do some games not count towards the achievement showcase and overall game count on my profile?

Games are too new and have not enough owners.
Steam now demands that games sell a certain amount of copies before all Steam features for them are unlocking.
Has been that way since last year already.

A way to curb the increase of very cheap shovelware games onto the store.
Just give it a few days, unless its a total trash game the features should unlock then.

is it based on total sales or sales over a period of time because i have a lot of games that about a year or 2 ago that were removed from my game count that are still being sold on steam. had those games for a very long time

Could you name a few of those titles? I am curious.

And it should be "total owners".
I seen a few games on the store that had features limited even after 1-2 years.
But those are usually games with 0-1 reviews after all that time, so most likely very few owners.
Also i think only buying on the store directly counts for the threshold since developers tended to just give out free keys to get enough owners.

Its been awhile. I dont really remember any specific ones since it happened so long ago. I wasn't really keeping track of them like that 😕

It's an all-time thing.
It's meant to combat the flood of low-effort games whichs only purpose is to drop achievements and cards/increase the counter. So these are the limited features.

The games can still be sold - they just haven't met the requirement to have all profile features enabled. When this feature was introduced, old games that didn't meet the standards were then subject to this restriction as well as new titles.

Hyperdot and JQ.

I've read that already when seeing that part of the list, but that doesn't answer the question of "why?"

To stop developers from putting cheap shovelware on the store so that they could farm trading cards.

Then, why some games over others. I read the posting about it from Steam and it was so vague.

Why only on cheap, low effort anime puzzle games and not on games that have actual effort put into them?

I'm sure you can figure it out.

There are plenty of games that are more than just that that are exempt.from the features.

The requirement is the same for all games unless the publisher is established and trusted.
