The Debut Collection Badge

Is this badge only available during the steam sale? Or will you have more time to craft this badge?

I'm not made of money and don't have $200 to drop earning steam points but I'm a huge collector of event badges. I really hope this isn't the way of steam going into the future for their sales. Because I have always crafted the event badges during steam sales but this new system forces you to spend money to craft the badges instead of just paying a few dollars for the cards to craft only the badge.

Like I said, I'm a fan of badges and collecting during steam events, but have always just bought and crafted the badges. This system will force you to spend $200 on the steam store to earn the points to upgrade the badge to lvl 20. NOT A FAN!

Well for me the badge store page is bugged and I can't even get the first level as it only offers me level 20 badge for 20k points that I don't have, so there's that.

I like to craft the badges to, but since the implementation of this "token/point" system I gived up, I'll just craft lvl 1 from Sale badges (or lvl 5 for normal cards from Sale badges). I'm also giving up of foil badges at all, a thing I should't even had started, this sale I'll craft my last foil badge. But i'll keep crafting the full normal game badges, they are prety fun to do!!

I had that happen to me using a web browser, but it works in the Steam Client.

Why do you need to level badges up to the maximum? Get the level 1 and be happy about it. I collect event badges too but I don't fall for the trap of maximizing the levels. I get level 1 and that's it. Look at my profile. Level 1 badges for years and years.

You don't need it to be maxed, as sale badges you can level them into the thousands but before you could just spend the few cents per card and and get lvl 5 badge for just a few dollars. My problem is the new system forces you to spend at least $10 per level.

This is an ongoing thing, you craft the badge with points on the Points Store that you earn through purchases on the Steam Store and In-app purchases. These points are just a bonus to encourage people to spend money on the Steam Store and in Apps on Steam. So no, it's not only available during the summer sale.

The point shop, I'm excited for. I felt like steam profiles needed the revamp it got and I'm excited to see what will be added in the future.

I have no idea how you get the debut collection badge, just by spending $200?

20k points to get a badge? That is pretty nasty IMO.

Well, It's based on this that I'm quessing that the badge will stay to be available even after the sale ends. Probably.
