pornography and vulgarity in chat room
there are a number of people posting pornographic images and animated gifs in the chat rooms. Kids are on here and don't need to see this stuff! What can be done to ban them completely? my 8 year old nephew and my son were trying to play cities and this vulgar stuff popped up!

Use the report button.

And tell the kids to stay out of the chat rooms.

Since the early aol / yahoo / msn messengers; I have always thought that the 'image' ability should be a toggle-able function. With images set Off as their default setting.

Those that want the chat to remain just a chat keep what was once, just a chat window. And those that want all the silly gifs / emotes / etc can turn it on if required.

A simple solution to a problem that has grown out of control.

1. Report them.

2. Enable Family View for his account.

If it really hurt them and their integrity you could report the users in the chatroom

If it's on Steam itself, then you can report it if it's against Steam rules (just nudity alone might not be breaking the rules, depending on the area of Steam it's shown, since there are filters for that).

If this is something that's happening within the chat room of a game, then there's nothing Steam can do about it, and the game makers/admins are responsible for enforcing their own rules.

This is completely false, so... yeah.

OP: report their profiles if you have links. Report report report.

Also, "kids" - if they're YOUR kids, YOU are responsible for where they are. No one else's kids are your responsibility directly.
