Why the frick is there now a refund tax?

I ended up paying back 2.5 buck of a 14 dollar game? When did steam start with that ♥♥♥♥? I won't even bother trying out a game for 2 hours if i don't get full refund for games with no demo...

Refunds aren't there to demo games. And the only reason I can think of that there would be a difference in the purchase and refund price would be if your payment method was in a different currency. If the exchange rate changes, it can alter the amount that you see on your end as both were processed with the same amount on Valve's end.

There is no such thing as a "refund tax".
Just refunded a game yesterday and got the full amount i payed back.

Its possible that you used a combined payment method like Steam Wallet + PayPal, the refund money will be split exactly the same way you payed it. So some goes to Wallet some to PayPal.

Check transaction history.

As others have said, there is no refund tax.

As others have said there is no refund tax and second the refund system isn't for demoing games and you're liable to get yourself locked out of it for abusing it.

And if there were a refund tax (there isn't) then you shouldn't be complaining here but bothering your government; those are the ones who dictate that we need to pay taxes.

Oh.. so apparently it's the base price of the game and the separated sales tax on top that they separated that made it seem like i had to pay a refund tax..

just an update there is NO tax. for some reaon on your email it will say tax BUT it doenst Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes - Playtime: None

Tax: £0.85

but ill be geting 5.11 SO maybe there is a hidden tax when u pay for the game ? but u will get every penny back
