The drivers are already installed as a part of Windows so yep, it's just plug'n'play.
Awesome! good to hear
2.) Power pack = the things built in phones, laptops etc, simply to charge as a simple pack; that's what I meant^^
Appreciate the help man. Thanks
I would NOT recommend to use your phone charger to charge the controller in general.
Let me give you a simple example based on my own evidence.
I own lots of platforms. I use lots of batteries, especially AAs. When Li-Ion "Eneloop" rechargeables crossed my rader back in 2008, I bought a load as my previous NiCd batteries were about had it.
So I bought 8 immediately - 4 of which were needed and I'd rotate them with 4 being on charge while 4 are in use. Total cost, including the charger then was £16.
Fast forward to end of last year and they'd finally about had it. There's still some juice in them, but they don't go for more than a couple of hours before dying.
And they got recharged every other day, or thereabouts.
So work that out - £16 split over 11 years, recharged every other day or so. If you can't see how much that saved me, well.....
Sorry for my rant, but we haven't got a lot of time left before climate change screws the world and this is one big thing that needs to stop.
But as far as anything else goes, I've just bought a new Xbox One controller as my other one had almost fallen to bits (the should buttons just fell off due to crap joints, the joystick nubs had worn and there was an amount of drift going on).
I bought a custom one from MS directly in orange and blue. It literally is just plug it in and go. Nothing else needed. Windows 10 is automatically setup for it, and any games that emplot controllers will use this natively.
And if your phone cable is the micro USB size that fits, you can use it but only as a data cable (which is another method to use the controller on PC). I prefer to use cable myself as bluetooth is so crap due to interference.
I wouldn't recommend a rechargeable battery pack as you tend to pay through the nose for something not as good or versatile.
Basically, you get a proprietary pack that can only be used in that controller, and they're often ♥♥♥♥ cheap rechargeables in there at quite a price.
The beauty of Xbox One controllers is that they natively use AAs - you are FAR better served by getting good eneloops, or Amazon Basic rechargeables.
If you want the breakdown empirically on which rechargeables perform the best for your money, I recommend you have a nose on Youtube for "Project Farm" as he's tested them extensively.
Windows recognises it straight away, plug and play straight away!
Awesome! mine should be here in a few hours. Can't freaking wait. So excited. My old cheap generic PC controller had a lot of dead zones, it was pretty hard to aim the bow with it in games like Assassins Creed Odyssey. Bought this one in hopes the issue gets resolved and its not the same. Gonna be really disappointed if performs the same as my $15 generic controller for real :(
3 years ago. It worked good for what it was worth but I noticed how hard it was to aim. I think the joysticks had dead zones in it. it was very difficult to aim like In games like Assassin's Creed Odyssey where you have to aim the bow. But with the new Microsoft Xbox One Controller its so responsive and sensitive (But in a really good way) I love it.
I am so happy with it. Totally worth the $70 price tag aiming is so easy. Sorry I haven't owned a console since the first Xbox came out and never really used an Xbox One except the one at display at Best Buy but I freaking love this thing.
Yup, things have rather moved on gradually in recent generations.
Times were in the past, you could buy a third party SNES joypad and not have much difference, but really the last two generations especially have shown where the cost goes. Decent joysticks and reliable buttons.
I haven't bought a third party controller in many years for this reason. They're often a false economy.
A lot of times I feel a sting and some light regret when I spend large amounts of money on stuff that seems unnecessary but from the moment I decided to buy this I knew it was gonna be worth it and I don't regret it.
