Account VAC banned because of a Hacker
I had not used my steam account in several months, I also did not receive any emails alerting me that my account been hacked, as I did have steam guard on. I tried to log in after several months my email and password had been changed. I finally got my account back, and it had all been turned into Russian, mainly, my friends list was gone, and there is also a VAC ban on my account. (I own the entire valve library, I play those games so much, they are my favorite) Steam will not remove the ban, as they have some BS rule that you're responsible for your account, but I never knew of the hack, they never alerted me, and it seems ridiculous that because some lowlife in Russia decided to steal my account I can no longer play my favorite games, which I've also spent my own money on. What can I do to get steam to listen to me? They said they wouldn't reply to my help request anymore, so now I'm asking all you. What can I do to make steam unban my account? They failed to alert me to the hack and for all I know the ban was falsely applied, I sent them support emails months ago they never responded to trying to get my account back, had they responded this probably would not have happened. If they continue to refuse, can I sue? I had something like this happen to my Instagram once and they reset my account to before the hack no problem, it seems silly that Steam can't do the same, and remove the comment off my account saying RUSSIAN BAD PLAYER or recover my friends list, and mainly, unban someone who has never hacked anything in their life. This is unfair, someone has to see my point, steam has been no help, so I'm reaching out to the community to see if anyone can assist me and maybe get steam to listen, before I decide to take things further.
Sincerely,
-Someone who loves valve games and can not stand this VAC ban

This is already your answer. There is no one in the "community" that can override their decision, which is the correct one.

More people will filter in and say pretty much the same thing. Sucks but take it as a life lesson.

Accounts are not hacked, they are hijacked and taking a look at your name history, yours isn't any different than any other people blaiming Valve for literally everything.

STOP giving away your account credentials and the auth codes to potential phishing pages.

Someone else cheating on your account is not a false ban, accounts are banned NOT people.

There's nothing you can do to remove it.
I do the same for players that cheat on my server, if they cheat - that account gets banned no matter if it was their brother / cousin / some hacker doing it.

I understand that, but they didn't give me any notice of my account being compromised like they should have, the only way I would know is if I tried to log in, and I wasn't playing games at the time because of school and other commitments. Screw life lessons man, I've put a lot of time into those games and I am seriously considering suing steam for this, as they don't warn you before and they gave me no notice of a hack, that's on them. I am not gonna go down without a fight. Steam needs to be held responsible, because I'm not gonna let them hold me responsible for someone else's wrongdoing, last time I checked, that was illegal in this country.

I didn't give anything away, I was inactive for months because of college and other things, I had several other accounts hacked including this one at the same time. You people can't be serious about its the account not the person, theres people behind these accounts, I've had mine for years and am not a hacker in any way, how does no one see that steam is wrong here?

I don't buy into your sob story. S9ome guy commented on your profile that you're a "bad player" and shortly after that you get banned for cheating, coincidence? I don't think so. :profgenki:
Just another cheater that was caught and now coming up with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ story trying to get unbanned.

You have to be joking or retarded, look at my name history, I am not Russian, I am from the US, I didn't cheat on anything, I don't even play Counter Strike that much (the game the ban was given for) mostly Day of Defeat and TF2, which I can't play now. Look at my account, you can see it was hacked. I've had it for around 7 years, this aint no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sob story, look at the evidence.

1. You can check steam login history from support page.
2. Nope, it is not Steam's fault. If you want to blame somebody other than yourself, blame the hijacker. Good luck finding him/her.

I literally just want my friends list back and to play TF2 again, why would I make that up? Is this forum full of idiots?

And how do you expect them to do that?

Because from their point of view all that happened here was a successful logon to your account but from another IP address. And that by itself is definitely no reason to assume a compromise.
craigal 2020 年 5 月 27 日 下午 9:58
If you have had a number of other accounts stolen, then it is your PC that has been compromised. You possibly have a key logger installed.

That is your responsibility.

First, your name history shows that you've already taken chances with your account with a 3rd party website that we've seen here in the forums repeatedly from other users complaining about having been "hacked". Steam isn't going to notify you that someone else has logged in as you with all of the proper credentials. From their perspective, it's you not someone else.

As far as the VAC ban, it's on the account, not you per se. Someone, either you or someone else, was using the account using a known cheat and attracted the VAC system. Therefore it is correctly applied to the account.

But I'm sure this will all be ignored as we've seen in the past. You'll still demand justice because it's not fair to you. You do what you think is in your best interests. Good luck.

Yeah calling somebody retarded when you can't even figure out how to delete a comment from your profile is pretty rich ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Name history proves nothing, a fact an intellegent person would know, ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
So why would I believe you, already lied when you said you "owned the entire valve library" which you clearly don't.
Even if your sob story was true you are just an entitled retarded brat that refuses to take responsibillity for his on actions which you showed by calling the rule that users are responsible for their accounts "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥"
But hey have fun "taking things further" and keep me updated, I like to have a good laugh :profgenki:

You know, first off they could have someone actually talk to me instead of giving me automated responses, and see that clearly I am not from Russia, I know nothing in Russian, they would probably realize, oh, this kid had his account hacked, lets fix it. Because every other login of mine wouldve come from the US, where I live. It seems they just dont care to fix it, otherwise they would have someone from supoort on the phone with me or at least sending me emails. I feel like what I am asking for is fairly simple, I am not asking for a lot, and it makes sense. Banning someone because of someone elses actions do not make sense, especially when the account was running under a different name, icon, friends list, bio. Clearly they can see it wasn't me, I'm not a bad person. I just wanna play TF2 and Day of Defeat :( Am I making a fair point? I feel like I'm not asking a lot.

No. Some are, but we do our best to explain things calmly and clearly but they keep coming back for more.
