I can only activate a small number of games at one time
Every time I buy a couple of bundles at once, I get stuck in a situation where steam refuses to activate my keys. Saying that I have added too many. Why is this limit so low. Im getting pretty Ticked off and theres no way I can find to complain to steam about it.

(Each tab is an activation of bundle games)

Is there anyway to bypass or avoid this. Cause its seriously annoying. I can't understand the purpose of the limit.

that's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lot of activations

I can't say why you're hitting a limit. I've never triggered one and there's been times when I thought I was activating a lot but I can't say I've done as many as you're attempting.

Activation limit is somewhere around 30 keys in a row.
Then you get a 1 hour cooldown.
If you try to activate a key before the cooldown is over it resets to the full hour again.

So if you get the cooldown, wait 60+ minutes then you can activate 30 keys again.
And so forth.

Working as intended.
Because it is meant to be a buffer for potatoes that get their accounts yoinked

You deserve a Steam badge for this.

I buy bundles as well and it is a chore to put the keys in the way it is set up, so I either do it all at once for maybe 6 or in 2 lots or more for 10+ keys.

I have never got this message since bundles became a thing.

All redeemed, duplicates, and invalid keys entered in counts towards the 1 hour cooldown.

It is roughly 45-55 keys redeemed, duplicates, and invalid that will trigger it.

To prevent key gens.

There use to be bundles on some sites with 20+ games. Hoarding Humble keys and then trying to enter them in also had me hit the limit a few times.

Its still an issue for people like me, doesn't matter if its intended or not. Buy 50$ of bundle games, get blocked from adding your games to your account, then Lose track of which games redeemed and which didn't. Finally what you end up with is a bunch of keys you have to renter because you can't remember which ones were added properly.

Then you end up spending even longer redeeming keys, and having to do more work. Because the first time, you didnt track which keys you were redeeming, so now you have to enter them a 2nd time, which causes you to hit the redemption cap again.

The Limit should go up with your Steam account Level and the number of games on your account. Its seriously a pain when basically any time I buy a large number of bundles at once, It takes 2-3 hours to redeem them, If I manually keep track of which ones I've used.

If I pay for something, then why should I have to do extra work because of hackers/scammers/botters.

How do you mean? Why should I have to keep track of game keys I bought after I 'think' I had redeemed them? Usually I just open all the Redeem links at once, for sake of ease. Then I can just ctrl+tab quickly through all the windows and redeem all my keys in about 30 seconds instead of doing them 1 at a time taking about 10-15 seconds a key.

At Least that's what I used to do. Now I have to actively keep track of which keys got redeemed and use all my ram keeping webpages open until an hour is up and I can continue redeeming them.

I was with you until you try to explain this.

There is NO reason to do this.

I buy a fair amount of bundle games, and just copy paste their activations each time.

If you're losing track of what you activated and didn't then that's very much YOUR problem. It's very easy to go through and write something down to remind you or do it sequentially, or something.

This is probably why you keep butting up against the limit. If you're banging away with keys you're unsure about.

So try to alter your behaviour because you really shouldn't be doing daft stuff like this.

Just activate your bundle keys right away; then you only have to remember which of the most recent bundles you haven't activated yet.
HaXoR_DB Jun 1, 2020 @ 11:01pm
I try to activate them immediately =\. Usually I activate them and open in new window the redeem button. Other times I will use a bulk key activation script. Either way when I hit the limit its a pain in the butt.

It should be. It stops key gens.

Note the limit is pretty large. I've done mass activations of humble and other stuff and its like 20-30 or so. Which again isnt' like super unreasonable.

So Batch 30, wait, batch 30, wait, batch 30, wait. Not that big a hassle.
