Downloading game roms to emulators you own legal?
I understand console emulators (playstation emulator for example) isn't illegal but downloading the game roms can be. Correct me if I'm wrong but say you download a game rom such as Metal Gear Solid but down own it that's illegal. I'm wanting to download Symphony of the night for the ePSXe and I own the game but not a hard copy, or for the same platform in that matter. I own Symphony of the night on the Xbox Live marketplace but don't have a console anymore to play it. If I download it for the epsxe, is that fair? Or would it need to be for that console. If need be I'll buy the damn thing on amazon or ebay.

No. Any unauthorized copy of a game is a copyright violation. Places try to make up laws to allow for it, but that does not make it true as actualy copyright laws already show such games and emulators to be a violation of said copyright laws.
