Why am I still being trolled in my discussion I created even after I "blocked ALL communications" with em?
Hi... I got a REALLY BIG problem, I just got one of my ideas in Suggestions / Ideas completely destroyed by trolls spamming me no for the last (more or less) five hours!:angry_creep:

Even after I clicked on the option to go to there account-pages to click "block all communications" with them, but somehow there still commenting & spamming me on my own discussion I created and ruining it!:angry_creep:

Is there a glitch going on in the systems or something?... because doesn't term "BLOCK ALL COMMUNICATIONS" with them mean "ALL" communications from these trolls be blocked even in the discussion you create?

Can someone help me out here please?

Yea, we have answered it here pretty well, but they are not communicating directly with you, once you post a thread here. That thread is now part of the community, and anyone can post here given they are part of the community and have a Steam account.

Only moderators can prevent users from posting in threads, and maybe the rare action by a Valve staff member.

Anyone can post, it is just that their posts are hidden from your view in the thread. The block feature does not work the way you seem to think it does.

Unsub from the discussion. Both of them.

No, you don't own the thread.

People disagreeing with you doesn't make them trolls.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

You not liking being told the truth about your "request" is not people trolling. It's just you throwing a hissy fit.

You need to learn how these things work, about the request you put up. You having a fit doesn't mean it's magically going to change.

I did not say I own the, I said I created a discussion that I posted to the steam forums!

TECHNICALLY SPEAKING... they were harassing me for... five straight hours... "THAT IS TROLLING", and I'm NOT asking it to magically change, I asked if steam can add/update an option to block trolls even in discussions people post to steams forums like my post here for example, that's all!

I can't be the only one encountering this problem with trolls?

Thanks you "the giving one" I really appreciate the answers you posted here, Zekiran here was rather rude, but you explained it in a very clear and very respectful manner, and I really respect that a ton, and that's why I'm marking your comment as the answer!

That's actually been suggested before in a few threads that you can search up in the same Suggestions forum, and the reason is, this is considered everyone's forums, so to speak. It's not something that belongs to any one user, even when they are the one that created the thread.

But on your profile, that is your house. If you block someone, that just prevents them from messaging you on your profile comments, for example.

It's explained here, as once we post it on Steam, it becomes "content", and falls under the rules and guidelines :

thanks again for the very clear explanation "The Giving One" I really appreciate it a lot, when I started my account 10+ years ago I had to learn the hard way, BUT a lot of my problems were ALWAYS with trolls and thanks again for the link, I already read it when I started, and it doesn't exactly help me with my troll problem... BUT I still appreciate it nonetheless!

Note “people explaining why your idea is untenable” is not trolling

You’re not being “trolled”

But they were rude and disrespectful and treated my like an trash and them doing it for hours is a sign of trolling and I know this because I dealt with trolls and bullies all my life!

They kept repeating themselves in a disrespectful nero-minded manner instead of talking to me in a clear an orderly and open-minded manner just like "the giving one" he did it in a respectful an orderly manor and I really "REALLY" that!

You have a lot to learn about the internet. I think you need to grow a thicker skin because people will disagree with you in all manner of ways. Every person has a different personality. Internet will probably never be birds singing and bunnies hopping. It would be nice if everyone was respectful but your setting yourself for huge disappointments if you expect it from everyone.

I checked the linked thread a few comments above and have to say: damn, you should really rethink your behaviour. Those people weren't rude to you and of course they repeat information over and over again if you can't accept it - because well, they were telling the truth.

Instead of complaining several hours, insulting them and trying to present you as the victim ... take 5 minutes and think about what YOU did wrong. And if you can't see the problem you should work on your self-reflection.

They aren't trolls because they dislike your idea. They aren't trolls because they still engage in a discussion they are interested in. They aren't trolls just because you dislike their (normal) tone. They aren't trolls, whatever you wanna believe.

Yeah i managed to read through that mess as well. I didnt see anyone being a problem or trolling. They are simply answering questions or debating why the idea eiher cant work or already exists within steam, and I agree with them.

The OP however , geez guy, your pretty abusive in your own right. You go into attack mode over the smallest issues. Maybe public forums are just not for you if you cant have a civil conversation with people without coming totally unglued at what you perceive as the most minor or non existent slight.

And some of your personal stuff dude is noones business really.
it's OPs first day on the internet lol

It seems to be the way nowadays, david. People disagree, surely they can't be right with logic and valid arguments, nono, they must be trolls.
