MICROPHONE NOT DETECTED
Hello, I cannot use mic automatically in game. The problem is when I go to settings and then music, I cannot see any option about mic. Steam doesn't even recognize that I have a mic. I have updated all my drivers, I am using steelseries arctis 3 2019 edition. My laptop has a 4 pole jack and my mic is working without problems with other apps such as discord.

The Steam client is not related to your game.

If you're using the Steam chat, and click call your friend, or join a group voice call, then that be related to Steam client. Open your friends list, click on the cog/gear icon, and under the voice settings manually choose you Mic, if it's not showing, then restart the Client, and check again, if still not showing, ensure something isn't interfering with your microphone either by your OS settings, or some kind of 3rd party app that mess with your audio devices, and drivers.

If you're trying to use Mic in-game own mic system, that has nothing to do with the Steam client. Go into your in-game settings, and check under audio/sound, and manually choose your mic, if it's not showing, then restart the game, and check again, if still not showing, ensure something isn't interfering with your microphone either by your OS settings, or some kind of 3rd party app that mess with your audio devices, and drivers.

Thank you, I have tried your recommendations and also i have deleted steam and reinstalled therefore cs:go is reinstalled also, i cannot seem to solve this. When I press the mic button on the keyboard it works but it doesn't pick up my voice automatically. Also I have tried everything related to windows 10 solutions but still nothing... I am frustrated. Thank you for your reply, hope I can solve this problem.

Hi,

Do you have any other third-party software running on the computer that provides any sort of modifications or connection itself to the headset you're trying to use? For example, an application like Corsair iCUE may need an update or something as such. If you're using Realtek HD Audio Manager, check within the Sound Manager to check if something has occurred there.

Lastly, if none of the above options seem to help, type in "Sound" in the Windows Search bar at the bottom left of the screen, and head to the Playback tab. Make sure your headset is selected as the Default Communication Device / Default Device. I advise doing the same in the Recording tab also, if you think you tend to have issues with getting people to hear you.

Hope this helps!
Hello, I have checked the things you say 'ın the first paragraph before, nothing is wrong there but when I plug the headset in it is not detected also, it works, sound is fine mic is fine but when I look at the devices there is just realtek speaker and default mic ör whatever. Only my bluetooth headsets are recognized, any other headset I plug in through the jack are not seen in the systems bir they work normally. Only problem is I cannot talk without push button in game. But with discord it detects sound automatically.

Hmmm, this seems like maybe a faulty audio transmission jack. I need to clarify on whether the headset you have is new, or if this issue just recently started happening.

On another note, try to completely disconnect your Bluetooth headsets from the PC, and run a Windows Update scan by heading to Settings > Update and Security > Check for updates. Let this do its normal process -- in hopes that there is an update available. If there is no update, keep the headset you are having issues with plugged in, and run a Sound Troubleshoot. To do this, simply right-click on the volume symbol located at the bottom right of the taskbar, and select "Troubleshoot sound problems".

This should launch a troubleshooting wizard and HOPEFULLY scan over an issue and get your headset working properly.

If all of this tends to not work out, the last resort is to try and switch which audio jack port you're using for the headset. Most PC's have front ports and ports in the back. The back ports usually have a better chance at working. Let me know how it goes! :D

OK I tried what you said, there were no problems detected before but it says it has detected a problem, though when I check the deteails it says everything works fine in the report. Also my laptop has just one jack, for both microphone and sound.

My headset is new, I have just acquired it for better ingame eperience, it is steelseries arctis 3 2019 edition.

Also all my drivers are up to date. I have run out of options really, I don't know what to do... Thank you for taking an interest in my problem.

But is this problem a new one? Has it happened gradually, or is this the first occurrence?

Ah, now that might make things a bit easier to track down then, If you'd used it before and it suddenly stopped working, it might be a bit more involved.

Anyway, the big sticking point is that you say it works fine in other games, and on Windows generally, which would lead me to obviously think the issue lies within the Call of Duty game.

I've got no experience with Call of Duty, so I can't offer specifics. The best solution I can offer is to maybe Google a couple of things. Firstly, the manufacturer of your headset. Have a look ofn their forums, see if they've got it split by product and maybe some others may have posted about this very issue, as Call of Duty is a massively popular game, I would think it likely.

Secondly, the Call of Duty forums themselves too.

I wish I could be more specific,. but that's all I can think of atm.

Just want to check something, are you using the attachment piece for Audio, and Mic splitter? Or you using the single jack?

Normally laptops have two jacks.

What laptop brand and model do you have?

ASUS N552V

If it's just the single jack that for TRRS, using the single piece from the image above, it should have came in your box with your headset, ensure cable plug in all the way in. If unable to do anything with it, can try using usb adapter.

Headset has a default 4 pole jack, also has an extension with two jacks for desktops, I have bought a splitter to try it with the extensions to rule out any possible solutions. Though as I have said before mic works fine with discord app, so it shouldn't be a hardware problem. It must have something to do with cs:go but I cannot seem to work it out.
