Let's talk about Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection
So, they're re-making AC 2, Brotherhood, and Revelation to look better. Now the only trailer and comparisons are AC2 on the 360 versions and the XBONE version (gee, I wonder who helped the trailers)

Now from what I see in the trailer, I have made up some Pros and Cons I see in the "new" AC2.

Pros:

When your on viewpoints you can see the whole town

uhhh...really? That's all I can name? Ok.

Cons:

They remove the tint that gave the game a distinct look

They're all white now instead of olive skin (italian)

Seems really buggy, even in the trailer :steamfacepalm:

No new anything, the graphics haven't been re-worked from what I could see

And a big one I doubt people have been asking for, WHY DON'T THEY REMAKE THEM IN THE NEW ENGINE?!
Yes, I agree, Syndicate and Unity were ok (they fixed like 70% of the bugs in Unity but there are still some bugs) but I love the engine they used! Hell, even the AC3 (yes Conner, not Brotherhood) engine would've been good! But no, let's remake them I mean, remove a part of the game and call it new, and not even have them in the slick, smooth, great parkour engine?! Come the ♥♥♥♥ on! I love the Ezio Trilogy and I would cry happy tears if they remade it into the new parkour engine, I wouldn't give a ♥♥♥♥ if it was buggy, I'd buy it on the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ spot!

But no, all they do is remove the tint, spray bugs all over it, and make everyone white instead of italian, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dammit, god I hope WD2 is good. (watch TGN's comparison)

Its likely not that simple to just move the game to a new version of the engien
Many things likely added, some reemoved, and some likely renamed

Yes, but, hey if they can pop out a game with a ok story and decent gameplay every year, why can't they use a AC2 as a template (i.e just MAKE everything again in the new engine) and copy all the textures? Basically, looking at a painting, and making that same painting on your canvas.

Its almost like making a new game
and if you going to take that path just make a new game its worth more cash

Remmber that game every year was made in 3-4 years of work
it a defrent ubi studio each year

Yes but they're not making things from scratch, they have to look at somethin, and make it better, no story changes, no location changes. That'd cut it down to atleast a year or 2 of work.

Not really
Animating, 3D modeling on a higher res, Coding, QA, Retexturing

its just abut a new game maybe minus voice acting?
Remmber its not one guy there is a huge team behind it each oing there job
taking a part out dose not cut that much on the time it takes, only on the pepole it takes to work on it

And again its likely not worth it, its like making a new AC but you cut just a little of the work out, and you get much less sales
Many users will not buy a remasterd of a game, as they only cared for the main story any way and all ready done it, not likely to buy again for a bit of a better engien with some more Polygons

so cost wise its better to just make a brand new AC with a new story that is likely to sell much more then a remastered
