Having been a comic store manager for 13 years, let me tell you: the hypocrisy is REAL. I could sell a book that showed decapitation and gore to a 12 year old without even one question (which I did ask, because I am not an irresponsible person), but I couldn't sell a book that had *casual* - not even sexual - nudity, to a 17 year old, without their parents permission.
If it deems the word is racist and could cause someone to get offended.
So if your from a country other than America many words we use in our country even the name of a movie you could now find them banned with a community message.
i do agree the first few should be censored
also another thing, Kill la Kill would just be **** la **** if they censored that word, would look kinda weird and same with songs containing the word kill or other things
No, it is not "considered profanity." It is considered censored on the Steam forums. If you feel a pressing need to reference it then call it "sexual assault."
The word isn't banned "because the groups that want to ban words..." It's banned because it was repeatedly used for personal attacks, insults and trolling and at a far greater frequency than people trying to have a serious discussion about sexual assault on the Steam forums.
Well so long as every one feels nice and safe in fluffy land, where people must be protected from having hurt feelings and reading dangerous words.
Well yes, but the forum, the company that owns it, and the country that company resides in and pays taxes to, IS the USA.
we need free speech dammit!
But
Not
Rape.
There is no free speech on a privately owned forum. Their house, their rules.
well , the first few besides gay arent exactly things that are used as insults or are really negative , the spy also uses the word imbeciles in one voice lines if i recall right

i can understand why anal isnt blocked , what about the word analysis , should only ysis be uncensored ?
also , i can imagine scenarios where the word gay would be used , like " a good friend just came out to be gay , i dont know what i should do to support him" theres just no reason to censor the word
