Cheap hentai puzzle games have gone too far seriously
No, it's not about hentai, not at all. I do understand there are adult players who want some sex games to play.

It's about copyright issues and steam's arbitrary and secretive regulation standards.

1-Most of these hentai puzzle games just pull some picture from the internet, probably Pixiv or DeviantArt, and turn it into a puzzle game or match up game. Even if we ignore the total lack of effort, I am in serious doubt that these ""DEVELOPERS"" had ever at least notify the artists before creating these game. Moreover, some of those pictures are even fan arts of copyrighted characters owned by another game company. I've seen Saber from the Fate franchise, Daihou from the Azurelane franchise, and Takao and Atago, another two characters from Azurelane, the list can go on and on. Apparently Steam did not do any inspection or research before they put these games on the shelf, which they should.

2-While these ""games"" pour into the market and flooded search results with craps, other rather well made games are blocked for various excuses that nobody understands why. For example, there's a game named "You can eat the girl" that's been blocked from release since January because "sexual exploitation on children contents", WTF? That game didn't even have a single piece of nudity in it! If Steam does want to review the games before they put them in store, they better have some standard, some CONSTANT, WELL ADDRESSED, AND RATIONAL STANDARD!

I am sorry but I just can't stand this. It's totally ridiculous how Steam let crap puzzle games with copyright issues in, while keep other games with no visible problems out because of some one-dimensional political correctness agenda. Hope Steam will wake up and deal with the situation, sooner the better, better late than never.

Take this game for example, I can find all it's pictures from their artists' personal blog or social media.

That Daihou clearly was Nylon100%'s work, just mirrored.

Nothing secretive about it. Valve follows the US law in regards to copyrighted material.

The copyright holder needs to file a DMCA with Steam and the game will be removed.

If you feel the game is in violation of such laws, then let the copyright owner know so they can file a DMCA.

Until then, there is no way for any of us to know if the artist gave permission or not for the work to be used. The matter is between the copyright holder and the developer.
That's exactly what the "developers" are taking advantage of, many fan art artist in Japan doesn't even speak English and therefore cannot file a complain.

Also, it's extremely annoying how those cheap puzzle games just being included in my search results even if I m looking for an action game or RPG, all thanks to the all-inclusive tag system.

I even start to suspect that this is some smear campaign funded by EpicGames to damage Steam's goodwill so they can get ahead!

You do realize you can get all those pics for free and in better resolution/quality from the artists themselves?

yes but here you get a cool puzzle game
also japanese fanworks are usually not a problem to copyright holders - see comiket and the other dojin festivals every year so i am sure they're not bothered by this game either. yes we all know azur lane is chinese but they market to JP audience so similar thought behind it. just relax and enjoy the game
The issue here might be that the games are extremely low effort, hence their cheap prices to begin with. As much as I like the idea of adult ish anime games, this is more like some cash grab that's better spent elsewhere for me. Pretty sure anime puzzles can be done way better...
Well i love this thread japan doesnt really have that strong "copyright" law to defend their creation its easly to those people steal the artwork and sell it to get easy money from stea even its super cheap its a profit.

We can say if its nintendo things ofcourse the game may be taking down by nintendo because nintendo is worldwide and have a company in us and other country aswell.

"there is no way for any of us to know if the artist gave permission or not for the work to be used. The matter is between the copyright holder and the developer."
I dont know but this is really sound bad its almost same like steam artwork cuz theres so many people uploap an artwork and saying theyre the one who made it without saying the credits.
In fact i found a some game on mobile they that have anime thing (some weird maid cafe and a game about buying gacha things? I dont like it) but its a game from japan and still connected with the company who have that character or usually if its example naruto or one piece character the money will be split to the real artist. Diffrend with thses kind of game not only stealing but they doesnt even give any money to the real artist.
I can say if they just creating their own anime girl no one will mad but if its a "famous" anime gir that already created by some anime studio in the future one by one someone will complain it.
Not gonna racist but i also report those anime game for copyright if i see a famous character in there. and yes the game wont get banned cuz its doesnt have enought people who want take it down.

I remember i found a app on the store about live deskopt? I dunno but its a community who create the 2d character for the deskopt even the dev saying about the copyright they said they doesnt have copyright for those character its just created by the community. I love how they saying that. Technically people just buying the app from the dev not the art from the fans who made it or the work so i dont thing that a problem for the real artist. Because the dev just making a program to sell not to sell the artwork.

Funny thing because you doesnt look like love drawing or creating artwork you dont know how it hard and how those people wasting their time there . And what you say about doijin because its free they doesnt sell it on that festival those people just giving support to the one who draw it. He doesnt have copyright for the character diffrend with the game on steam easy grab money and they get more money than those people who drawing manually. Not gonna lie but if you life on japan you may started to hate those game cuz you know why their suicide rate are really high there

I remember theres a similar thread would connected with this. Its about artwork. valve seem doesnt take serious for those artistout there
And for some people who "cant draw" they doesnt care about it they dont know how it hard

Im not suprise because in internet you cant know who steal who made it so it will be hard for valve taking this to be a problem. Well even youtube have this problem if you know rat fat he made lot of cool free music and about couple month ago his song get stealed and get copyright from a small studio because they giving a copyright to that song and get the money to their own youtube channel. If steam using DMCA it can have same problem if those ignorant and lazy people giving those character a copyright "just because they have money" it will be a big problem for the future.. im just afraid if theres a self or small company who doesnt have money to put their copyright to DMCA and make a great characther then some unknow company taking the character and make the copyright for them self because they had money they can do anything
I can't see copyright issues being dealt with when no one even reviews the descriptions and initial tags on these games.

Here's a casual game for adult and children apparently...

https://store.steampowered.com/app/691420/Continuous_Girl/

If these were reviewed and tagged correctly(adult) I wouldn't have a ton of these popping up in my queue and store pages.

Edit : Removed extra word.

You know, I realize it's not possible for foreigners to speak perfect english, but reading that description makes me wonder what the hell the source material actually said because I can't imagine google translate spitting that mess out intentionally
It's like six people that don't speak English each picked their favorite looking words out of other games descriptions.

99% of the people who "play" these games are 14 year olds with mummy's credit card. An adult would be smart enough to just go find all the CG on exhentai or wherever.
