Steam Support's response times can be found here https://store.steampowered.com/stats/support

It should take between 4 hours and a day. I usually get a response within an hour. Perhaps don't judge them on posts from 2012.

its apparently a wide issue, youre not alone

You could just put in your bank information again. Like is that so hard?

I mean its annoying but like ok you've had to put in your information again after 8 years. Like even though its a system glitch, I dont think having to scream about having to put in your information once every 8 years is like that big of a deal?

An account change like a password change will remove payment details from your account. That is a security feature.

^This. As nothing stopping one from putting info back in again, unless the payment method that you specifically use, is no longer an optional then use other payment methods that are an option for you.

If told to contact support, then do so. https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpAccountDataQuestion

I can’t use my steam wallet either

Same problem here. Can't get my card back in, it just says "error, wait a couple of minutes or contact support".

Wont accept any new information. Payment methods got deleted without change of password. Its a widespread issue (yet again) . You can TRY to put in new info and you get a

"There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction. Please wait a minute and try again or contact support for assistance."

There is no way to contact support over this issue.

Pretty much our only choice. Still sucks when you have a hardware reservation for 24 hours and their response is 'just wait'

Incredibly obnoxious really...Cannot add any payment methods, never changed my password or made any sort of adjustments or changes to my account. Wtf?

pretty sure the steam store is still broken from everyone trying to buy indexes, I can't even purchase a game right now using my steam wallet.

do you have web interface for your bank account? some providers have ability to top your steam account from web interface by sending an amount directly to your steam username.
in that case you don't have to link your card to steam account, you just top your steam wallet and then spend it on storefront as usual.
